In the previous episode, Hayley's body had been identified by Allison, and he died while he was out on his boat. In the opening scene, for this episode, we saw Hayley's funeral. Brooke, Billy, and Allison attended his funeral but Amanda was not at his funeral.

Brooke found out that her father did not have any money and his only real asset was his boat. Right after Brooke found this out, she went to Allison and blamed her for her father's financial problems.

In Amanda's first scene she was at her office and Bobby came in to talk to her. Bobby invited Amanda to lunch but she declined his offer and asked him to leave her alone. Bobby told Amanda he was there to withdraw an account he had with D&D Advertising.

In Matt's first scene, he was consulting with Michael Mancini on a patient and the person in the next room was throwing a tantrum. Matt went over to talk to the patient and he recognized him. He told him to keep it down and that it was a hospital. This was the only scene, in the episode, where a patient was loud and unruly.

In one scene, Brooke went to speak to Amanda and she asked her if she could have some time off. Amanda was Brooke's boss and could authorize that Brooke be allowed a couple of days away from the job. Brooke informed Amanda that she needed time to grieve for her father. Amanda saw this as an acceptable reason for Brooke to take a few days off so she granted Brooke's request for time off. Brooke thanked Amanda for honoring her wishes to grieve for her father.

In one scene, near the beginning of this episode, Sydney went to see Kimberly as a patient. Kimberly had just begun her work, as an intern in psychiatry, and welcomed Sydney to be her patient. In this episode, Sydney was the only person who visited Kimberly as a patient. Kimberly saw Sydney, for a couple more sessions, and Sydney felt that Kimberly being her doctor was worthwhile. Kimberly continued her work, in psychiatry, when she became the hospital director for a psychiatric hospital where she had Peter committed later on in season four.

Peter was seen, on a golf course, and he went to go get another golf club. When he did, he saw Bobby and Bobby asked him if he could golf with him. Peter said he did not think that was a good idea but he decided to let Bobby golf with him. Afterwards, they went to Shooters to have a beer.

In one scene, Richard was seen having dinner with Jane. While they were at dinner, they discussed their business, Hart & Mancini Designs, and their past relationship. Jane told Richard she regretted ignoring him, for the past several weeks, and Richard told her he forgave her. Jane asked Richard if he wanted to talk to her about anything else and he told her it could wait.

Right after Richard and Jane finished their dinner date, she saw Michael enter the restaurant and sat at his table. They got a bottle of wine but wondered who ordered it and they realized Sydney ordered it. Jane blasted Sydney for trying to get her and Michael back together and she walked out of the restaurant. Michael told Sydney it was wrong of her to do what she did and commented that she was more nuts than Kimberly.

Near the end of the episode, Allison was at a restaurant that also featured a bar, where she met with certain people and she saw a man she thought was Hayley. Allison went up to the man, since she thought he was actually Hayley, but she realized it was not him. Allison walked over, to the bar, and ordered a vodka on the rocks.
