The episode opened, with a flashback, in which Juliet sitting in her home waiting for someone. The person she waited for was Harper Stanhope, a therapist who was going to help her. Just as Juliet was about to leave her home, after she declared that she was done with Harper, Harper got up and gave her a warning. She said that, if she continued to seek out Goodwin, there would be consequences against Goodwin. Juliet told Harper she would not hurt Goodwin and Harper warned her not to hurt him.

In the middle of the episode, Claire was in a scene, with John Locke, and she told him she wanted to know more about what was going on with Miles. John told her that, at that time, not a whole lot was happening with Miles and that he was going to bring him food and water until he talked. Claire told John she wanted to talk to Miles herself and John asked her why. Claire informed him that they had to speak to these people and wonder why they would not rescue them from the island. Miles originally came to the island as part of the rescue team.

Goodwin commented that he wished they could picnic, by the beach, all the time and that he did not always want their meetings to be so private.
