He asked his mom if he liked it and she mentioned how she loved the way he played the piano. She then called the little boy, "Daniel", therefore informing us the little boy was Daniel Faraday.

She asked him if he knew what destiny meant but Daniel said he was clueless on the topic so she informed how destiny meant, if one had a special gift, it must be nurtured.

Jack went to go speak to Sawyer so he went to his house, knocked on the door, and Sawyer answered. Jack informed Sawyer that Daniel Faraday had come back to the island so Sawyer asked him why Daniel was there but Jack said he had no clue. Jack mentioned to Sawyer how Daniel came in on the submarine and then went off to The Orchid.

Daniel went to go talk to Dr. Chang, a doctor with the Dharma Initiative, in this episode and mentioned to him how they met three years earlier. Dr. Chang said he remembered Daniel and asked him what he needed. Daniel demanded that Dr. Chang evacuate every man, woman and child on the island so Dr. Chang asked him why he needed to do it. Daniel informed him that he and his men were drilling in a place on the island where there would be a catastrophic accident.

Eloise mentioned there was a nice restaurant nearby and she reserved them a table but she informed Theresa that she wanted it to be just her and Daniel, as she barely got to see Daniel.

Sawyer went to answer it and he also grabbed his gun in case it was someone who was out to kill them. He saw that it was Daniel Faraday who knocked and Miles was with him. Sawyer welcomed Miles and Daniel inside for the meeting.
