Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. This episode begins with a scene of Boomer dripping wet (a fitting way to start an episode entitled "Water"). She was disoriented, confused, and did not know how she got where she was. She looked into her duffel bag and found a towel, her uniform, and what other item?

Answer: a detonator

Not knowing what had happened in the previous hours, Boomer was hysterical that the detonator had been in her bag. When she went to return it to the small arms locker, six more were missing. She panicked and went to Tyrol for help.
2. The president's aide, Billy Keikeya, had a conversation with the president in which he told her that her outfit "looks fine". She then responded to him in a playful manner, "You don't know anything about women do you?" Later, when Billy was in the CIC, he lamely gave Dualla what compliment?

Answer: "I really like your hair."

Dualla gave Billy an odd smile and said sarcastically, "My hair?" and then walked away. Billy, dejected once again, said to himself, "I don't know anything about women."
3. After the president had congratulated the crew of the CIC, she had a discussion with Lee Adama over why the commander had decided to go through with the small ceremony. Initially, Roslin thought it was because it made Adama feel more comfortable, but what did Lee tell her was the real reason?

Answer: He was making a gesture by allowing Roslin to feel like the president.

Lee states that the whole celebration was his father's idea and that he was uncomfortable with "pomp and protocol". Roslin, surprised that Adama was trying to make such a gesture, looked over at him with an introspective admiration.
4. While Boomer and Tyrol were arguing over whether or not Sharon might be accused of being a Cylon, there was an explosion aboard Galactica. Where did the explosion take place?

Answer: the water tanks

It seemed that Sharon had placed several explosives in the water tanks in order to deprive Galactica of their precious water. When investigating the tanks, Tyrol tried to play down the fact that they had been destroyed by explosives. He was trying to protect Sharon, and in the end, no one found out about her involvement.

The master at arms believed they would likely never know who had sabotaged the ship.
5. According to Gaius Baltar's study, how long would it take for "eighty-two tons of grain, eighty-five tons of meat, one hundred nineteen tons of fruit, three hundred four tons of vegetables, and 2.5 million jps of water" to be consumed by the fleet?

Answer: one week

The figures provided to him at the time were for a population of 45,265. The estimate showed how vulnerable the fleet was to shortages and prompted the commander to send out search parties to find possible planetary systems with water.
6. When Commander Adama queried Dr. Baltar over his Cylon-screening process, Baltar looked nervous and jittery. Unknown to everyone else, Gaius actually didn't have a process set up, something the Six in his head antagonized him over. What was Adama's reaction to Baltar's grandstanding?

Answer: He gave Baltar an assistant, Felix Gaeta, to help with the process.

The addition of an assistant terrified Baltar as it would just be an extra person "snooping around watching [his] every move." The Six even teased Gaius, saying that it could be a woman who he could get as an assistant, but when Adama assigns Gaeta, she said, "So much for that."
7. During the card game between Starbuck and Baltar, we saw one final hand go to the doctor when he laid down his "full colors". Not to be a poor winner, he offered Starbuck a parting gift. What did he offer her?

Answer: a cigar

Hand-rolled and from Caprica, the cigar he offers to Starbuck (and which she gladly accepts) was "one of the last left in the universe." He lighted it for her and then took off with the money he had earned.
8. On the last Raptor that hadn't reported in, Boomer and Crashdown hovered over the planet they had been designated to search. Crashdown continually received a negative water reading. Did Boomer get a negative water reading also?

Answer: No

When Boomer's screen showed positive contact for water, she eerily reported to her ECO that she hadn't found water either. When she ran the scan once more, it again said she had positive contact for water. She struggled vigorously to say it aloud to Crashdown, leaving the viewer to come to the conclusion that it was somehow against her programming.
9. In her chambers, Laura Roslin and Lee Adama had a discussion over mistakes and misjudgments they had made in the past. Roslin told Lee that former President Adar kept the names of those who had been casualties in his desk as a remembrance of his past mistakes. Laura had done the same, but as she didn't have a desk, she used her pocket. What was written on the piece of paper that she took out of her pocket?

Answer: Olympic Carrier

Lee seemed to be having troubles coping with shooting down the Olympic Carrier and talked to the president. She showed him the piece of paper in her pocket outlining the "Olympic Carrier" as her mistake. It helped him put the situation in perspective.

Afterward, she asked Lee to be her advisor on all militaristic matters. As a former secretary of education, she was oblivious to anything that had to do with the military.
10. After she had returned to Galactica, Sharon told Tyrol to look under her seat in the Raptor. After he found the last explosive, what did he do with it?

Answer: He gave it to the master at arms and said he found it during maintenance.

Tyrol told her it "puts [everyone] on the same trail that we're on, and doesn't raise any suspicion of you." After a small moment of anger, Sharon agreed that it was probably the best plan. The final scene is of Sharon walking down a hallway, ominous drumbeats in the background; we know she is a Cylon and could end up doing something else terrible.
