In 1958, at age 16, Wayne Newton booked his first Las Vegas gig after an agent saw him on the Lew King Rangers Show. Newton became an headline act in the early '70s, he has since played over 25,000 Las Vegas shows, earning him the name Mr. Las Vegas.

When The Lunchbox sets up a booth at the local festival, Lanford Days, Jackie thinks it would be good for business if they had a celebrity endorser, so she makes a sign falsely advertising country singer Loretta Lynn as a customer. During the celebration, Roseanne and Darlene actually meet Loretta Lynn when she stops by The Lunchbox's booth to order a loose meat sandwich.

Loretta Lynn began her career at age 24 singing at the Delta Grange Hall in Washington State. By the early 1960s Loretta was part of the country music scene in Nashville Tennessee, and in 1967, Loretta had her first number one hit with the song "Don't Come Home A' Drinkin' (With Lovin' on Your Mind)", making her the first woman in country music to receive a certified gold album.

After Dan has a secret lunch with his old high school girlfriend Phyllis Zimmer, he spends a romantic afternoon with Roseanne. When a new restaurant opens across the street, Roseanne and Jackie fear it is the end of The Lunchbox. Roseanne is furious when she sees the competition; not only is the restaurant fancy, it has a full page ad in the newspaper and has hired "One Day at a Time" star Pat Harrington Jr. to make an appearance at the grand opening.

Pat Harrington Jr. won an Emmy and Golden Globe for his role as Dwayne Schneider on the TV show "One Day at a Time" (1975-1984). His other work includes appearances on "The Love Boat" and "Murder She Wrote".

When Ed McMahon shows up on the Conner's doorstep, he announces that they have won the Halloween Jackpot. Roseanne thinks it is a joke, so she gives him the riddle: "What is a refrigerator, a pool side dressing room, and Ed McMahon?...What is an Amana, a cabana, and a famous second banana!"

Ed McMahon is probably best know as Johnny Carson's sidekick on "The Tonight Show", a gig he held from 1962 to 1992. Ed was also the original host of "Star Search" from 1982 to 1998. And he appeared in commercials as a spokesperson for the American Family Publishers sweepstakes.

After winning the lottery, the Conners become local celebrities. Roseanne lets things go to her head when she daydreams she and Jackie meet Playboy creator Hugh Hefner after posing for the publication.

Hugh Hefner is the creator of "Playboy" magazine. The publication's first issue was released in 1949 and featured Marilyn Monroe on the cover. The magazine spawned the nightclub and resort chain The Playboy Club, and E! Networks "The Girls Next Door" (2005-2010), where viewers got a look at Hugh's private life with various Playboy Playmates.

As Roseanne's daydream continues, the Conners are guest on "The Jerry Springer Show". While Roseanne and Jackie are at the Golden Chamber Spa, they meet designer Todd Oldham. Roseanne knees Todd in the groin when he tells her what not to wear in order to flatter her figure.

Todd Oldham is the president of L-7 Designs Inc. He is both a fashion and interior designer. His first clothing line was launched in 1989. Todd Oldham has designed clothes for the retailer Target, furniture for La-Z-Boy furniture, and acted as creative director for Old Navy.

The Conners on are on their way to Washington, when their train is taken over by terrorist. After Roseanne rescues her family from the bad guys, she is interviewed by the media. Steven Seagal then appears in Roseanne's imagination and shares with her that violence is not the way and the real enemy is within.

Steven Seagal is a martial artist and action movie star. Seagal is a 7th degree black belt in the Japanese martial art Aikido. His movies include "Under Siege" and "Half Past Dead".
