Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Who was the first housemate to enter the "Big Brother" house in 2004?

Answer: Marco

Marco Sabba, a 21 year old law student, was the first to enter on Friday 28th May. He ran around the lounge and kitchen area, clapping his hands and squealing loudly. Marco apparently has a phobia of clowns and maggots. I don't suppose he comes across both at the same time very often! He was soon followed by Ahmed Aghil, who, at 44, was the oldest of the 2004 housemates. I'm not quite sure what he made of Marco!
2. For the housemates first live challenge on Saturday 29th May, the new evil "Big Brother" decided that the hapless 12 would have to nominate one housemate to be without their suitcase for the duration of their stay in the house. Who got the most votes and was therefore without many clothes?

Answer: Kitten

Kitten Pinder, 24, described herself as a political activist, and was responsible for 34 acts of rulebreaking during her time in the "Big Brother" house. She took the news of her loss of suitcase quite well, and happily borrowed clothes from her housemates.
3. After receiving 3 formal warnings for rule breaking from "Big Brother", Kitten became the first person to be evicted in 2004. After being told to leave, Kitten refused and "Big Brother" turned on a plasma screen showing the total prize money of £100,000 that the winner could receive. "Big Brother" then announced that for every minute Kitten stayed in the house the sum of £1000 would be taken off the prize fund. What figure did the screen show when Kitten eventually walked out the house?

Answer: £91,000

Seeing that the eventual winner of "Big Brother" would not receive such a large sum prompted Kitten to give in and leave the house as requested. The prize fund was also reduced if housemates failed the Saturday night live challenge.
4. Which of the 2004 housemates worked as an air steward?

Answer: Jason

Jason Cowan, 30, made his entrance into the "Big Brother" house dressed in only a leopard print thong. As the suitcases were not delivered until the next day, this could have proved a problem!
5. The first proper nominations took place on Day 11, and three people found themselves up for eviction. Who were they?

Answer: Ahmed, Emma and Michelle

The housemates believed that one of the three nominees would be leaving the house, but in fact the public were voting for the two housemates they wanted to go into the "Big Brother" bedsit.
6. After Emma and Michelle were moved to the hidden bedsit, they found themselves working for "Big Brother". Each day they were issued with a dilemma, and had to choose a housemate who would have a prank played on them. Which of the housemates received the sweatshirt with itching powder placed in it?

Answer: Vanessa

The housemates believed that Emma and Michelle had actually been evicted, and had no idea that they were in fact sitting in a room near them watching their every move. The pair also chose Victor to receive cold showers and Jason to have eggs and water thrown all over his bed. The girls also made a chocolate cake which had the added ingredient of chilli powder. Yum!
7. Emma and Michelle also got to choose the fancy dress outfits the housemates would wear for a "Passing of Task" party. What did Stuart go to the party dressed as?

Answer: A cowboy

The bedsit girls chose Vanessa to be the wicked witch, Victor to be the clown and Jason to be Widow Twanky. Stuart seemed to enjoy pretending to be a cowboy, (well, he is only 20!) and had to be asked twice by "Big Brother" to return the outfit in the following days.
8. Emma and Michelle made their return to the house at the beginning of the party, but sadly things did not go as planned. The evening fell into disarray, and foodfights and arguments broke out. Six of the housemates were later issued with formal warnings for their behaviour. Which housemate did NOT receive an official warning?

Answer: Dan

As the housemates became more agitated and seemed in danger of harming themselves, "Big Brother" producers sent in security guards to calm things down and separate the housemates into different groups. Emma was removed from the house back into the bedsit, but after two days it was decided she should leave the house altogether. "Big Brother" informed the housemates that Emma was no more or less to blame for the arguments then anyone else, but that they felt it was in her best interests if she left the house.

Some television viewers who were watching the events live were so shocked by the screaming and shouting that they called the police!
9. Although nominations for eviction had taken place that week on June 14th, it was felt that after the events of the party it would be sensible to postpone the eviction night and allow the housemates time to sort out their differences. Which two housemates were therefore given an extra week in the house?

Answer: Dan and Vanessa

Not only was the eviction postponed, but also the Saturday night live challenge on June 19th. "Big Brother" producers decided that the nominations would "Roll over" to the following week, with any votes already cast by viewers still standing.
10. On day 25, the housemates were set a new task by "Big Brother". They had to build a new "housemate" made of plaster gauze, and made up of body parts modelled on the housemates themselves. Nadia had a plaster cast made of which part of her body?

Answer: Chest

The end result was a rather odd looking, life size plaster gauze model, featuring the ample chest of Nadia, the feet of Dan, Stuart's stomach and Jason's buttocks, not to mention the assorted moulds of the other housemates body parts. This task caused much amusement in the house, as they each rubbed the wet plaster on to each other to make copies of the body parts required. If the house remains standing, and no other dramas occur, then I may write another "Big Brother" quiz based on series 5!
