Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "Blackadder: Back & Forth" starts with the names of its producers, which include "Blackadder Films" and which other fictitious company?

Answer: Baldrick Dodgy Catering Company

The opening credits start with "Blackadder Films in association with Baldrick Dodgy Catering Co. Present..". Baldrick's dodgy culinary skills are further elaborated on later in the episode when he serves Blackadder's house guests, his own phlegm spread over an avocado.
2. The first scene shows various members of the Blackadder dynasty with actual British historical figures. Which of the following is not one of them?

Answer: Lord Nelson

In the opening scene, a Blackadder stares at Queen Victoria as another makes a rude hand gesture towards Winston Churchill. A third Blackadder is shown to be standing beside Margaret Thatcher and covering his nose while the latter has her arms up in the air (indicating that Thatcher's armpits smelled badly).
3. What, according to Blackadder, was the greatest breakthrough in travel since Mr. Rodney Tricycle invented a machine with three wheels and a bell and named it after himself?

Answer: His time machine

The time machine was actually built by Baldrick, who followed Leonardo da Vinci's instructions to the letter, even though he himself was illiterate!
4. Blackadder travels through time and brings back the front page of one of Shakespeare's plays, autographed by Shakespeare himself. Which play was it?

Answer: Macbeth

Initially Blackadder punches Shakespeare and discourages the latter so much that he never wrote any plays. To repair this damage Blackadder travels through time again and flatters Shakespeare into resuming his writing.
5. One of Blackadder's house guests once donated a kidney to Blackadder when the latter claimed to be dying of kidney failure, only to find out that it was a practical joke. Who was he?

Answer: Darling

As a result of this prank, Darling had to throw his kidney away.
6. Travelling through time, Blackadder encounters Robin Hood. Give the full name of one of the two Merry Men mentioned by him.

Answer: Friar Tuck

When Blackadder asked Robin Hood if he really was Robin Hood, the latter sarcastically replied, "Is Will Scarlet a poof in tights? Is Friar Tuck a fat tub of lard with a ridiculous haircut?"
7. Blackadder and Baldrick visit a famous historical battle and end up accidentally killing an equally famous historical person. Which battle was it?

Answer: Battle of Waterloo

Blackadder's time machine accidentally landed on top of the Duke of Wellington, killing him. As a result, Napoleon won the battle and Britain was ruled by France for the next two hundred years. Blackadder went back through time and averted the death of the Duke of Wellington, thus saving Britain.
8. In Roman times, when Blackadder's ancestor was defending Hadrian's wall, Consul George thought that a large orange hedge was moving towards them. What actually was the "hedge"?

Answer: A group of red - haired Scots

Centurion Blackadder described the Scots as "ginger maniacs with wild goats nesting in their huge orange beards".
9. What significant feat did Baldrick achieve when he was eighteen?

Answer: Left nursery school

Unfortunately, he was back at nursery school at the age of thirty-five.
10. Which of the following is not one of Blackadder's characteristics mentioned in the song played during the end credits?

Answer: He's blinder than a bat.

In the end, Blackadder becomes the King in the end with the help of the time machine, with Baldrick as the Prime Minister.
