After fainting outside of the Hawthorne School, Cordelia dreamed that she woke up in the ruins of the Miss Robichaux Academy after the bomb dropped only to be surrounded and eaten alive by the cannibal survivors of the fallout while a white-faced demon watched from above.

She awakened from the nightmare, however, to find her coven tending to her. After reuniting with her girls, Cordelia brought together the instructors of the Academy and informed them of her vision, suggesting that she make a bold move.

In two weeks, she said, on the rise of the Blood Moon, Michael would take the test of the Seven Wonders. He agreed. If he succeeded, he would be the next Supreme.

Returning to New Orleans, Cordelia was harangued by Myrtle but she held her ground. Fearing a dark path based on her own selfish desires, Cordelia stated that she would not follow the same path as her mother and force an outcome that leads to her own demise. That said, she continued, she would need to find a successor in due time. Myrtle, knowing the history of the coven, suggested that she cast a wide net as many up-and-coming witches, especially Mallory, who resurrected an injured deer the other day, showed great potential.

Myrtle tried to convince Cordelia that they simply wait for another successor to grow into their abilities, but Cordelia claimed not to have the time as her powers were already beginning to wane. Mallory interrupted their conversation though, since her 2:00pm appointment with Mr. Vanderbilt was ready to occur. Vanderbilt, there to induct Coco into Miss Robichaux's Academy, insisted that his daughter was ideal for the academy, and digging a bit, Cordelia realized that Coco may have an ability to sense danger (though she was doing it to identify gluten in baked goods). Cordelia introduced her to Mallory to get her settled.

At the Hawthorne Academy, just before the Blood Moon, blessings were placed upon Michael Langdon to protect him from the dangers of the Seven Wonders. His instructors conjured a circle of power to imbue him with the strength necessary to get through the tests, but as a wind picked up inside the underground John Henry Moore believed he saw something in Michael's face, hinting at his true nature. That evening, when Andre showed up at his room with a bottle of sherry, he packed his things and insisted on leaving for a few days to search for answers.

John Henry headed out that night, stopping off for gas on his way to New Orleans, but he was surprised at a gas station when none other than Langdon's own former guardian, Ms. Mead, drove up. Not knowing who she was, he helped her out by pumping her gas, but she deceived him, dropping her wallet before slicing at his Achilles tendons and then slitting his throat before setting him ablaze and driving off. Michael met her at the entrance to the Hawthorne Academy and told her everything, thanking her for her help and claiming that everything would be fine as long as the witches were kept at bay. Miriam then revealed her man on the inside.

It turned out that Ariel had been providing her with the info necessary to intercept John Henry, and his help would be invaluable to their efforts.

The eve of the Blood Moon arrived in due time, and before long the witches of Miss Robichaux's and the warlocks of Hawthorne gathered to witness Michael Langdon's ascension as he perfected telekinesis, concilium, transmutation, divination, pyrokinesis, vitalum vitalis, and he prepared for the final test, descensum. For this, Cordelia asked not just that he step foot into the underworld and return, but to retrieve something from it. If he could bring back Misty Day, who lost her life to the descensum portion of the test, he could prove his mettle. Ariel asked for a sidebar.

Ariel confronted Cordelia in his office, suggesting to her that because of her obvious declining health, she was simply trying to prevent a man from taking over her role as Supreme by setting Michael up for failure (and death) in the descensum trial. Ariel called her 'her mother's daughter', instantly relating her to Fiona, and this sparked the argument between them. Soon, and nonetheless, everyone gathered around Michael as he descended into the underworld, down a hallway, and through a door. Inside, Misty Day continued to suffer her worst nightmare, killing a living creature against her will and repeatedly bringing it back to life. Michael ended the cycle though, killing her teacher and bringing her back into the world, allowing her to materialize in the material world before everyone's very eyes.

As soon as Misty was returned, Cordelia felt her nose bleeding and the strength diminish in her legs. Michael drove the point home-- he completed the Seven Wonders and he would be the Supreme. There could be no doubt. Later that day, while Cordelia rested by a fire, Misty confided in her and Myrtle, suggesting that she should never have given Michael the task she did; she would have preferred to stay in Hell. Michael, she suggested, gave her the heebie-jeebies, and there was something seriously wrong with him.

After killing the teacher in Hell, she explained, she asked if he was there to save him, but the students around her opened their mouths and spoke in some hideous language, almost as though evil was speaking to him. He wore the perfume of death.

Speaking to Myrtle and Misty, Cordelia said that Michael could and would never be the Supreme. This came as a surprise to the witches as the test never should have been performed if this were the case, but Cordelia said it was because she needed to know how strong he was.

There was something dark within him, and she needed to keep him close. After all, something was coming, and whatever it was, Michael Langdon already gave them an advantage by bringing back the coven. Misty, Cordelia claimed, would not need to fight the big fight because of what she'd been through, but she would need to heal. For this, she called upon the white witch, Stevie Nicks, to retrieve her and perform for her.

And so Stevie Nicks performed "Gypsy" for the witches and warlocks in the reading room of Hawthorne Academy to aid Misty in the healing process. While the song was sung, Cordelia signalled to Madison to follow her and the two left the room to talk. Outside, Cordelia asked her specifically to use all of her powers and training to find out all she could about Michael because he was a danger to all of them. Chablis revealed that he was eavesdropping on the entire conversation though, and he insisted on joining Madison because of his gut feeling about Michael.

Their destination, according to Cordelia, would be where it all began.
