1. What is the name of the show that the characters were performing in?

Answer: Varekai

Alegria was one of their more recent shows. Alegria means "Joy" en Espa�ol. O was another recent show, and We Reinvent the Circus was produced in the 80's. Each show toured for about 3 years, averaging 10 shows per week. I definitely admire the performers' stamina.

2. What are the names of the twins that perform the strap act?

Answer: Kevin and Andrew

These twins are from Britain, and got ahead quickly in the Cirque by perfecting their act early on. They were featured on the Cirque du Soleil Christmas card.

3. Which veteran Cirque du Soleil performer performs his act with Tatiana?

Answer: Oleg

Oleg and Tatiana are both from Russia. Their act was almost taken out, but was replaced 2 days before opening night. I would hate to be left hanging like that!

4. Did the dress rehearsal go well?

Answer: No

The dress rehearsal was a disaster. A select few performed flawlessly, including Olga.

5. Olga is a famous _______.

Answer: Contortionist

Olga was one of the best contortionists in the world. She was also an expert hand balancer, which is amazing to watch. She was from Russia and was one of the few to have a perfect act in the dress rehearsal. She was the female lead in Varekai. Varekai revolved around two young people, Olga and Icarus. Icarus lost his wings by flying too close to the sun, but Olga helps him to fly again.

6. What country is Raquel's boyfriend from?

Answer: Brazil

The series addressed this when the camera was following Raquel around Toronto. She and her boyfriend went into a Brazilian bakery that she said "smelled just like the ones at home."

This was the first public performance that the cast did. They performed very well in my opinion, but the owner made many changes. It's all for the better, I suppose.

Adrian was hired late in the training season. He could not integrate with the show, so they fired him. For the official show, Varekai only used musicians.

9. Whose mother has cancer?

Answer: Gareth

Gareth quits Cirque du Soleil because of the high pressure and concern for his mother. He wasn't doing too well in his Icarian Games act at the time, either. He came back after a nice stay at home, but was behind. Being behind cost him, and he is fired right before the show leaves Toronto.

10. What colors are the stripes on the Big Top?

Answer: Yellow and Blue
