Answer: He was killed in the line of duty

There was always mystery surrounding the departure of Det. Felton from the homicide unit. At first he was thought to have quit the department in shame after a long suspension. When he was found dead several seasons later of an apparent suicide the impending investigation found that not only was Det. Felton murdered, but he was still an active member of the Baltimore Police Department as an undercover agent in the internal affairs division.
2. What happened to Det. Steve Crosetti?

Answer: He committed suicide

Det. Crosetti was killed off after actor John Polito was asked to leave the show.
3. Which three homicide detectives were partners in a local Baltimore bar?

Answer: Lewis, Munch and Bayliss

Det. Lewis and Det. Munch convinced rookie Det. Bayliss to invest in their dream bar located across the street from the department called the Waterfront. Det. Bayliss agreed and the trio owned and operated the bar for the duration of the series.
4. What event at the end of season four caused Det. Frank Pembleton to be placed on restricted duty at the start of season five?

Answer: His wife worked as a secretary in the homicide office

Lt. Giardello was a widower so his wife could not have worked in the homicide office. Lt. Giardello did once refuse a promotion because the Captain vacancy was in the property division and he would have to leave homicide. In 'Homicide: The Movie', Giardello was retired from the Baltimore PD and was running for mayor of Baltimore.
10. Why did Det. John Munch dislike Det. Stuart Gharty?

Answer: They had conflicting views regarding Vietnam

Det. Gharty was a Vietnam veteran and Det. Munch was against the Vietnam war. Fans may remember that it was Det. Lennie Briscoe of the New York Police Department that had a fling with Gwen Munch, one of Det. Munch's three (soon to be four)ex-wives.
