Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In the operating room, the doctors at the 4077th are busy at work operating on several young soldiers, including a certain young man named Gary Mitchell. Trapper participates, but is he the lead doctor in this important operation?

Answer: No

Neither Hawkeye nor Trapper, who assists in the operation, are aware of the fact that they are operating on the son of Maynard M. Mitchell. Mitchell's son is named Gary, and he is played by Robert Weaver. This episode marked the third and final appearance of General Mitchell, played by Robert Simon.
2. It turns out that the young soldier operated on by the doctors at the 4077th is none other than General Mitchell's son. The General shows his appreciation for the 4077th surgical staff by offering what item to Henry?

Answer: 12-year old Scotch

Henry is especially pleased to receive the Scotch. General Mitchell comments that 'it goes down real smooth'. Henry responds, 'At that age it should know the way!'
3. For their troubles, Hawkeye and Trapper are sent on three fun filled days of rest and relaxation in Tokyo, where they will stay at the Imperial Hotel. While there, they engage in a number of crazy shenanigans. What do they supposedly do to General MacArthur?

Answer: Send him a case of pipe cleaners

It turns out that their pipe cleaners made it to the table of a lady correspondent, and not to their target, General MacArthur. The boys also host rickshaw races in the hotel lobby.
4. Henry receives several telephone calls from Tokyo, it seems his doctors are simply raising a ruckus there! According to one phone call, half the graduating class of what type of school has turned up missing thanks to Hawkeye and Trapper?

Answer: Pearl diving school

If meddling with the graduating class of the local pearl diving school isn't enough, the two doctors have also been caught at the Fujikawa Bathhouse 'bobbing for customers'. Henry simply can't send them anywhere without them causing trouble!
5. When Hawkeye and Trapper finally return to the 4077th, they are very pleased to find that General Mitchell has provided the camp with a new Officer's Club. Which of these does Trapper fiddle with the first time he enters the new O-Club?

Answer: Slot machines

Trapper and Hawkeye are very pleased to find the new O-Club, complete with Slot machines and a Jukebox, but they are quickly annoyed to learn that the club is 'restricted', that is, only officers are allowed to enter.
6. With the Officer's Club not welcoming enlisted men, Hawkeye and Trapper find themselves the target of the ire of their subordinates. They quickly accost Henry, imploring him to open the O-Club to all 4077th personnel. Henry is not willing to do this, and further, he sings the praises of the O-club. As what does he suggest the Officer's Club can double?

Answer: A church

Henry ridiculously suggests that the O-Club can serve as a church on Sunday. According to Henry, you just have to throw a poncho over the jukebox and you have an instant pulpit. 'Three sermons for a quarter', quips Hawkeye. Hawkeye suggests that the O-Club have its name changed to 'St. Patrick's Church & Grill'.
7. Despite the fact that the O-Club is 'restricted', Frank and Hot Lips fully enjoy its luxuries. What cocktail does the teetotalling Frank order?

Answer: Shirley Temple

A Shirley Temple is a cocktail that includes ginger ale, grenadine and orange juice. The bartender, Kwang Duk, seems amused by Frank, especially after Frank comments that Kwang Duk's name is 'cute'. 'We're a cute people,' retorts Kwang Duk. He is played by veteran character actor Clyde Kusatsu.
8. Hawkeye and Trapper decide to distribute a petition amongst the officers which would allow the enlisted men to enter the O-Club. Trapper is unsuccessful in convincing Frank to sign the petition. Is Hawkeye able to get Margaret to sign on?

Answer: No

No way, man! Frank and Hot Lips are unbending sticklers of the rules, unless there is some advantage in it for them. Even with Hawkeye schmoozing Hot Lips on the dance floor, no success is gained in this endeavor.
9. General Mitchell himself has arrived at the 4077th to help dedicate the new officer's club. Unfortunately, the enlisted men are not invited. Rather, they are provided the alternative of watching an awful army-produced film. What is the title of this charming film?

Answer: Hansel and Regretal

'Hansel and Regretal' is apparently the latest army film on V.D., sounds charming! To make matters worse, it's an animated cartoon. Fortunately, Hawkeye and Trapper have other plans for the enlisted men.
10. Do the enlisted men finally get to enter the Officer's Club by the end of the episode?

Answer: Yes

Thanks to a clever plan by Hawkeye and Trapper, the enlisted men are allowed to enter. They use General Mitchell's son, who is an enlisted man himself, as an example of an exception to the rule. Hawkeye suggests that the General's son be admitted because he is a relative of an officer. After the collective agreement of the other officers, Hawkeye introduces Radar, like the son he never had, Klinger, who has always been like a daughter, and so on.
