Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Episode #161 "Luck of the Bundys": Why is Al reluctant to admit he has good luck in this episode?

Answer: Because it will reverse itself if he admits it

Al experiences a huge stroke of luck when learns that both Kelly and Bud will be able to move out of the house soon. Those are just two of the many lucky things that happen to him. However, Al refuses to admit he is lucky because of the Bundy curse. Al believes the second he admits he has good luck, something terrible will happen. Meanwhile, Jefferson tries to take advantage of Al's fortune in a high stakes poker game.
2. Episode #162 "Banking on Marcy": What is the new job Marcy receives at her bank after she gives quite the memorable speech?

Answer: Delivering bad news

Marcy confides in Peggy that she has a fear of public speaking. When her bank volunteers her to deliver some bad news to investors, Marcy sees a therapist. The therapist tells her to picture the audience in their underwear. When Marcy does this, however, she begins having sexual feelings. Because of her emotions during the first speech, the bank hires her out to other places to deliver more bad news because Marcy is so memorable, it eases the difficulty of hearing the bad news.
3. Episode #163 "No Chicken, No Check": What happens to the chicken that Kelly and Bud are supposed to keep in their car?

Answer: Al eats it

When Kelly and Bud pool their money together to buy a car, Al purchases them insurance. However, he registers their car as a farm vehicle. Because of this, a chicken must be kept in the car at all times. When Bud and Kelly double date, they are forced to leave the chicken at home because there is not enough room in the car.

While at the movies, Bud and Kelly's dates hook up. The Bundy children seek their revenge by wrecking the car with their dates in it. They intend to put the chicken in the wreck to claim the insurance but Al, hungry, has eaten it.
4. Episode #164 "Take My Wife, Please": In this Halloween episode, Death comes for Al. Death tells him that she will spare his life if a member of his family says they need him. Which member of the family is the one who comes through for Al?

Answer: Kelly

Marcy is hosting a Halloween party at her house for women recently released from prison for killing their husbands. She hires the Village People to perform but recruits Jefferson, Kelly, Bud and Peggy when the band does not show up. Meanwhile, Al comes home to an empty house where he is greeted by Death who has taken the appearance of Peggy with long black hair. Death tells Al he will spare his life if just one member of the family says he or she needs him before midnight.

Al feels doomed as he and Death watch his family performing as the Village People next door. The former prisoners are not pleased with the fake Village People mainly because they can only lip synch to one song "YMCA" because it is the only single Marcy has and they sing the song over and over again. Eventually, the real Village people show up and begin singing "YMCA". The women riot and begin throwing toilet paper at the real Village People. Bud and Kelly argue over what kind of toilet paper the women are using and Kelly says she wishes Al was around because he is a TP expert. This is enough to satisfy Death who lets Al live.
5. Episode #165 "Scared Single": What is the name of the young high school football player whom Al hires to work at the shoe store?

Answer: Aaron

Al is asked to hire another employee at the shoe store. Al hopes to hire an attractive woman while Marcy hopes Al will pick Jefferson. Instead, Al hires a high school football player named Aaron (Hill Harper). Al sees a lot of himself in Aaron and tries to help Aaron avoid the same mistakes he made. Al tells Aaron he should not marry his girlfriend. However, Al changes his mind when he meets Aaron's fiancée and learns she is the perfect woman. But it is too late to tell Aaron as Aaron has already dumped her and returned to his old girlfriend Meg, who is nearly identical to Peggy.

Aaron would appear in a handful of episodes throughout season eight before he disappeared without explanation. He was replaced with Griff (Harold Sylvester) as Al's coworker.
6. Episode #166 "NO MA'AM": It is in this episode where Al forms his anti-woman group called NO MA'AM. Which of the following words is NOT in the acronym for NO MA'AM?

Answer: Motherhood

The name NO MA'AM stands for the National Organization of Men Against Amazonian Masterhood. Al forms the group in response to the local "Masculine Feminist" Jerry Springer (who plays a fictional version of himself in this episode). Springer has been going around Chicago turning manly places and events into feminine things such as converting Al's nudie bar into a feminine poetry house. Al and the men in the neighborhood form the group and storm Springer's TV set and read of a list of demands.

This episode shows NO MA'AM's membership to be quite large. As the seasons progressed, NO MA'AM apparently shrunk in numbers and became a close knit group of Al and his friends, many of whom were not established characters at this time.
7. Episode #167 "Dances with Weezie": When Peggy and Marcy get tickets for "The Jeffersons Live" stage play, where do Al and Jefferson want to go instead?

Answer: A sports bar

Al and Jefferson are not thrilled to learn the tickets Peggy and Marcy bought for "The Jeffersons Live" show are on the same night as the opening of a new sports bar. Neither Al and Jefferson want to go to "The Jeffersons" anyway so they force Bud and Kelly to secretly take their places. Bud pretends to be Al while Kelly pretends to be Jefferson.

The plan works, not only for Al and Jefferson, but for all the men who attend the sports bar.
8. Episode #168 "Change for a Buck": When Buck runs away from the Bundy house, why won't another family adopt him from the dog shelter?

Answer: He's old

Buck runs away from home when the family continues to ignore him. He winds up in a dog pound and learns he will be gassed if no one adopts him in one week. Meanwhile, the Bundys do not notice Buck is gone until days later. Buck finds life in the shelter difficult and none of the people who come are interested in adopting him.

A young boy did want to but his mother says Buck is too old and ugly.
9. Episode #169 "A Little Off the Top": When Al goes to the hospital for back surgery, what procedure does he receive instead?

Answer: Circumcision

Al hurts his back playing football with Aaron and must have surgery to fix his injury. Specifically, he needs a circular incision made into his back. However, the doctor misreads this and gives him a circumcision instead. Al is humiliated and angry with Peggy as she keeps accidentally turning him on and is responsible for Al going to the hospital in the first place.
10. Episode #170 "The Worst Noel": Kelly and Bud purchase a jukebox for Al and Peggy for Christmas but what do they wind up giving them instead?

Answer: A record

Al and Peggy spend the entire evening on the couch arguing over what to watch. Because of this, Kelly and Bud cannot get the juke box in through the front door. They instead try a pulley system to pull it through a window on the second floor. However, the juke box breaks and the only thing that survives is a record of "The Christmas Song" by Nat King Cole. Meanwhile, Marcy and Jefferson are throwing a Christmas party next door and are trying to keep it a secret from Al.
