Kevin Johnson, the ship's deckhand, is really Michael Dawson. Sometime after Michael escapes the island, he is recruited by Tom (AKA "Mr. Friendly") and asked to work for Ben as a spy. Michael is given fake identification and assigned a job aboard Widmore's ship, under the name Kevin Johnson.

The beginning scene of this episode opens up to the meeting Locke has called, to discuss Ben and what he knows of the ship. In the first opening shot, the camera fades in to show Aaron and then slowly pans up to Claire. After cutting away from Claire, we are shown the rest of the people at the meeting one by one.

Answer: Jin's watch

In this scene we see Michael enter the pawn shop and offer the watch, given to him as a gift from Jin, to the shop keeper. The shop keeper offers him $300 but Michael tells him he doesn't want money, he wants a gun and bullets.

After purchasing a gun, Michael goes into a dark alley and is about to shoot himself until he is interrupted by a stranger asking the time. The stranger turns out to be Tom, here to recruit Michael. During the conversation between the two of them, Tom remarks how Michael has come to Manhattan, leading into the quoted line.

After his meeting with Tom in the alley, Michael goes home and decides to try and shoot himself. Sitting in front of the T.V., he puts the gun to his head and pulls the trigger, only to have it not fire. Michael checks the gun for bullets, sees it is fully loaded and puts the gun back up to his head. Just as he is about to try a second shot, a news story about the Oceanic 815 wreckage being discovered comes on the T.V., making him stop and lower the gun.

Michael, overcome with the guilt of killing Libby and Ana Lucia, attempts to commit suicide by driving his car into a large shipping container at the docks in Manhattan. Having failed to die in the crash, Michael ends up in the hospital. While laying in his hospital bed, a nurse walks into his room to bring him blankets and apologizes for waking him, we then see it is Libby dressed as a nurse.

In another scene, aboard Widmore's ship, Michael is about to press the execute button on a bomb sent to him by Ben's people. Just as he is about to press the button, someone appears behind him saying "Don't do it Michael!", then he turns to see it is Libby.

Answer: Thailand

After failing to shoot himself and seeing the report about Oceanic 815, Michael goes to Tom's apartment to get answers. Tom tells Michael that the wreckage was staged by Charles Widmore and when Michael asks for proof, Tom gives him a file containing photos and documents about the staged event. Looking at one photo of open graves, Tom explains that Charles took the corpses from these graves in Thailand to use as the passengers in the fake wreckage.

After checking in with Naomi at the docks, Michael (AKA Kevin) goes to board the ship. As he is walking aboard, someone says this line to him. We see it is Miles, sitting and eating an orange as Michael is walking past him. Michael, caught off guard by the comment, stops and looks at him. Miles tells him that it is OK, 80 percent of the people on this ship are lying about something. Miles offers him a piece of the orange but Michael declines and continues to the ship.

Answer: Throws it into the water

While heading onto the ship, Kevin receives a call from Tom, who wants to make sure Kevin has received his package and is still going through with the plan. After Kevin ends the call, he takes the phone and throws it off the docks, into the water.

Answer: The captain beating a man

When the ship's alarm goes off, Desmond and Sayid jump out of their bunks and run up to the deck. There they see the captain, beating a man in front of other crew members. The captain exclaims this beating is to scare the rest of the crew into not trying to leave the ship and for them to remember what happened to the last two people who attempted to steal a raft and leave.

Answer: Ben

While Kevin is sitting in his cabin, bouncing a ball against the wall, George enters to tell him about the call for him on the radio. When Kevin says that no one knows he is aboard this ship, George tells him someone must know because they asked for him by name and that he is the only Kevin Johnson on the ship.

After George tells him the call was from someone named Walt, Kevin heads up to the radio room and takes the call in private. We then hear and see it is actually Ben who made the call to him, from the island.

Kevin's mission on this ship is to kill the people aboard, to stop them from finding the island. In a package sent to him by Tom, Kevin finds a suitcase bomb, which he takes to the engine room to detonate. As he presses the execute button on the bomb, a timer comes up and begins to countdown to zero.

When the counter on the bomb reaches zero, instead of exploding, a small flag pops up with a note attached. Written on the note, in all capital letters, are the words "NOT YET".

While aboard the ship, Kevin meets Frank for the first time and Frank strikes up a conversation with him. Frank asks Kevin if he has ever heard about Oceanic 815 and tell him that the wreckage, which was reported on the news, was a fake. Frank says the quoted line to Kevin while explaining about Oceanic 815.

Answer: A pressure valve

Desmond and Sayid go down to the engine room, claiming to have been sent by the captain, to question Kevin (whom they know to be Michael) and find out what he is doing aboard the ship. Kevin, wanting privacy, asks the mechanic assisting him to go to the supply room and get a pressure valve. Once the mechanic leaves the room, Kevin tells Desmond and Sayid of how he came to be aboard the ship.

Answer: Brings him to the captain and reveals his identity

In this scene, Kevin finishes telling Desmond and Sayid of how he came to be on the ship. Sayid, enraged by the fact Kevin is working for Ben (and for Kevin's other traitorous deeds on the island), brings him to the captain. Sayid reveals to the captain that Kevin is actually Michael Dawson, one of the Oceanic 815 passengers, and that he is the spy who sabotaged the ship's radio.
