Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "It's difficult to work in a group when you're omnipotent."

Answer: Deja Q

In this season three "Star Trek: The Next Generation" episode Q was stripped of his supernatural powers by the Q Continuum but retained his knowledge. Begging for a chance to prove his worth to the Enterprise he was assigned to Engineering but his knowledge was so far advanced the crew members couldn't follow his ideas, leading to Q's comment.
2. "You hit me! Picard never hit me!"

Answer: Q-Less

Q's only appearance on "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine" was this first season episode in which he appeared on the station with Vash, a former lover of Capt. Jean-Luc Picard of the U.S.S. Enterprise. Q goaded station commander Benjamin Sisko into a boxing match. Tiring of Q's feints and jabs, Sisko knocked Q down, which Q was not expecting.
3. "You're dead, this is the afterlife, and I'm God."

Answer: Tapestry

The episode opened with an away team bringing Capt. Picard into sickbay, his artificial heart giving out after he was hit with the beam from an energy weapon. It appeared he died and then found himself in a white void. Q appeared, giving Picard the apparent bad news. Picard refused to believe Q was God, saying the universe could not be "so badly designed."
4. "Now go back, or thou shalt most certainly die."

Answer: Encounter at Farpoint

The first episode of "The Next Generation" had the Enterprise warping to far-off Farpoint space station. On the way they encountered what looked like a giant chain link fence and came to a stop. A man appeared on the bridge, dressed in centuries-old nautical clothing, "a fellow ship's captain", so Capt. Picard would appreciate the gravity of his warning to go back to Earth because they weren't ready for what lay ahead.
5. "You know, I was betting Riker would get this command."

Answer: Death Wish

The season two episode of "Star Trek: Voyager" found the crew accidentally beaming aboard a member of the Q Continuum, who then accidentally made all the male crew members disappear. When Capt. Kathryn Janeway insisted he bring them back he summoned Q, who made several acerbic comments about a woman being captain of a starship.
6. "See you...out there."

Answer: All Good Things...

This was the"Next Generation" series finale. Capt. Picard found himself traveling to the future and the past and having no idea what was going on. Q appeared and told Picard to figure out what was happening or the Continuum would end all human existence.

In the end the Enterprise crew came through, humanity was saved and Q gave Picard a hint of what the real final frontier was. The quote here was given as Q left the Enterprise, saying he might return from time to time.
7. "Guinan? Is that your name now?"

Answer: Q Who?

Capt. Picard was kidnapped by Q in this season two "Next Generation"episode. As they sat in a shuttlecraft in null-space, Q again tried to impress upon Picard that humans weren't ready to go into deep space and offered his help. Picard agreed to listen to his ideas and they returned to the Enterprise. Entering the Ten Forward lounge, Q encountered Guinan, the bartender.

Their dialogue indicated they had known each other for a very long time, and had no use for each other.
8. "Jean-Luc, it's wonderful to see you again. How about a big hug?"

Answer: Qpid

Capt. Picard's former lover Vash arrived on the Enterprise in this "Next Generation" episode for an archeological conference and found her way to Picard's quarters.. The next day Picard entered his ready room to find Q in his chair. Though offered the quote here, Picard turned down Q's suggestion. Q soon met Vash and at the end of the episode they left together in the blink of an eye to explore the universe.
9. "Crusher gets more shrill with each passing year."

Answer: True Q

Amanda Rogers, an orphan, was accepted as an intern on the Enterprise. Being shown around Engineering, a warp core breach occurred which she stopped by raising her hands. Astounded, the crew tried to assess the situation. Q appeared, saying he had caused the breach because the Continuum thought Rogers might be one of them.

The breach was Q's idea of finding out if she was. He then wanted to take her back to the Continuum, causing Dr. Beverly Crusher to strongly object, to which Q gave his opinion of her.
10. "What sort of example would I be setting for my son if I did all the work for you?"

Answer: Q2

In "Voyager's" season three episode "The Q and the Grey" Q and his mate produced a son. In the season seven episode "Q2", Q returned with the now-teenaged son, who was almost impossible to discipline. Q left him with Capt. Janeway and quickly disappeared. Eventually, with the Voyager crew's help, young Q learned about friendship and responsibility.

As a thank you gift, Q gave Janeway a PADD with information to help cut a few years off the ship's trip home. When Janeway asked why he didn't just send them all the way to Earth Q gave the quote here and then left.

It was John de Lancie's last line in a "Star Trek" episode.
