Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. To which country did teams travel in the beginning of Leg 5 of the race?

Answer: Cambodia

Teams departed from the fourth Pit Stop of the race, the Summerhill Rec Farm outside Auckland, New Zealand, and were told to make their way to the airport to fly to the city of Siem Reap, Cambodia, over fifty-five hundred miles from their current location. Upon touching down in this Southeast Asian nation, teams would need to locate a specific gas pumping station within the city and fill a truck with diesel to receive their next clue.

Some of the teams were able to get quicker flights through Singapore though not all racers had left the Pit Stop at this time. Most teams arrived at night and in the early morning hours.
2. Which team completed the 'Village Life' Detour task in Leg 5?

Answer: Terence and Sarah

After filling their trucks, teams were told to drive to Siem Reap Harbour on the Tonle Sap, the largest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia. Once there, teams needed to board a marked boat to take them to Kho Andeth where their next clue box would be found.

This would be the Detour task in which teams chose between 'Village Life' and 'Village Work'. In 'Village Life', teams needed to head to a market along Tonle Sap and retrieve items from a dentist, a tailor, and a basketball court (at which both members needed to score a basket) before returning all three items to the harbour for their clue. Kelly and Christy, Terence and Sarah, and Ken and Tina finished this task.
3. In the 'Village Work' Detour task in Leg 5, what did teams need to retrieve?

Answer: Fish

In the 'Village Work' Detour option, teams needed to head out onto the Tonle Sap and pull two large baskets of freshwater fish from the bottom of the lake. Once they returned these fish to the proper person in Siem Reap Harbor, they would be able to receive their next clue. Nick and Starr, Ty and Aja, Toni and Dallas, and Andrew and Dan all completed this Detour task and continued onwards following their next Route Info.

This instructed them to make their way by tuk-tuk to the landmark temple known as Angkor Wat.
4. In the Road Block task in Leg 5, team members found their next clue in which of these?

Answer: An echo chamber

Arriving at Angkor Wat, teams found the clue box containing their Road Block task. For this, one member of each team needed to search the temple grounds for a single echo chamber. To determine the correct chamber, the participating team member would need to beat their chest within the room. If their beating echoed, they would be in the right place.

They would need to retrieve a stone item featuring the name of their next location on it to continue. Nick, Tina, Dallas, Christy, Andrew, Terence, and Ty completed this task.
5. Which team was eliminated in Leg 5?

Answer: Aja and Ty

After the Road Block, teams were instructed to make their way on foot to the nearby temple of Bayon, adjacent to the temple of Angkor Wat. Here, teams would find the Pit Stop. The first team to arrive was Nick and Starr who won a trip to the U.S. Virgin Islands (to go with their first leg victor trip to Belize).

Unfortunately, Aja and Ty placed in seventh, the same as in the previous leg, due to their unlucky flight time and they were the fifth team to be eliminated from the race.
6. In Leg 6, teams were told to fly to what Indian city?

Answer: Delhi

Starting Leg 6, teams opened their first clue at the previous Pit Stop, the Bayon Temple in Siem Reap, Cambodia. This clue informed teams that they would need to return to the airport to fly two thousand miles to the city of Delhi, India. Because of everyone's close departure times, all six teams were able to catch the same flight to the city of Delhi.

This would be the sixth "Amazing Race" to make a stop in India, and not the first in Delhi.
7. For the Road Block task in Leg 6, team members needed to paint a tuk-tuk which colour?

Answer: Green

In Delhi, teams needed to take a taxi from the airport to Moonlight Motors in South Delhi to find their Road Block task. Here, one member of each team needed to be chosen to paint a tuk-tuk, a small auto-rickshaw, the colour green to denote that it was fueled by environmentally-friendly fuels. To do this, the participants needed to cover all of the glass and wheels, then spray the car with green paint. Starr, Kelly, Toni, Sarah, Andrew, and Ken all completed this Road Block task before continuing.
8. How many teams completed the 'Launder Clothes' Detour option in India in Leg 6?

Answer: Four

After the Road Block, teams were told to make their way (by taxi) to the New Ambassador Hotel in New Delhi. Once there, teams could open their detour clue for this leg presenting a choice between 'Launder Clothes' and 'Launder Money'. Nick and Starr, Toni and Dallas, Kelly and Christy, and Andrew and Dan all completed this task in which both members needed to use charcoal irons to press a total of twenty articles of clothing to the approval of a laundry owner to receive their clue.
9. What did teams need to create (using money) in the 'Launder money' Detour option in Leg 6 (India)?

Answer: A necklace

In 'Launder Money', teams needed to receive ten rupee notes and create a necklace of them totaling seven hundred eighty rupees. Once teams bartered and stapled these together they would be able to hand it off to a couple in a bustling banquet hall nearby.

After this confusion, teams would be given their next clue. Only Ken and Tina and Terence and Sarah completed this Detour task before moving on with the leg.
10. Which team was first to arrive at the Pit Stop in Leg 6 (India)?

Answer: Nick and Starr

After the Detour, teams were told to make their way to the next Pit Stop, the Bahá'í House in New Delhi. Nick and Starr took their second consecutive first place win (their third overall) and ended up winning an electric car each for use after the race. Ken and Tina, who hit some snags earlier in the leg, were unable to overcome their undoing and sunk to sixth and last place.

However, because this was the first of only two non-elimination points in the race, they were spared from elimination and forced to complete a Speed Bump in the next leg.
