Locations Trivia Questions

1. Fans visiting Senoia can take a walking tour, eat at Nic and Norman's, and visit the Woodbury Shoppe. What show that ran for eleven seasons between 2010 and 2022 filmed its first season in Atlanta before moving southwest to the small town of Senoia?

From Quiz
Georgia TV On My Mind

Answer: The Walking Dead

Officially incorporated in 1866, Senoia residents pronounce the town name "see-noy". In 2010, nearly 3,300 people called the town home. As of the 2020 census, over 5,000 people lived in the city limits. The show filmed throughout the geographic area, including shooting scenes in Hampton and Griffin.

2. "Happy Days" (1974-84) created the phrase "jumping the shark." Exactly which character did jump the shark?

From Quiz Wisconsin On Your Television

Answer: Fonzie

The phrase "jumping the shark" has come to refer to when a television series has outlived its shelf life. It often happens after cast changes, especially if cute kids are involved. The particular episode in question "Hollywood Part 3" (September 20, 1977) follows the "Happy Days" gang as they travel to California. Fonzie is challenged to jump over a shark on water skis, which he does successfully. While "Happy Days" did go downhill, especially in its later seasons, it was still quite popular in 1977. Later that season, Robin Williams would play Mork, launching his career. Henry Winkler actually is a very talented water skier and did most of the skiing scenes in the episode himself. Only the jump over the shark was done by a stuntman. It is hard to imagine Richie or Ralph having the courage to jump over a shark. Watching Marion Ross do it would have been awesome.

3. Which TV show was set in the state of Alabama?

From Quiz The Final States...

Answer: Any Day Now

Anyone remember the show "Any Day Now" (1998-2002)? This was a well-intentioned, short-lived show originally set in Alabama in the 1960s about the close friendship between an outgoing white girl and a quiet black girl. They drifted apart and Rene (the latter) moved to Washington and became a successful lawyer, while Mary Elizabeth (the former) got married and stayed in town. 30 years later, after the death of her father, Rene (Lorraine Toussaint) moves back, and she and Mary Elizabeth (Annie Potts) become re-acquainted. "Waltons" are from Virginia; "Andy Griffith" was in North Carolina; "Dukes of Hazzard" is set is Georgia.

4. Murphy Brown took a sabbatical to go to the Betty Ford clinic, but where was her fictional show, "FYI", located?

From Quiz RE-STATED

Answer: Washington, D.C.

"Murphy Brown" (1988-1998) was a long-running and often acerbic sitcom about the star reporter of a news magazine show in the nation's capital; there were lots of political innuendos (in the 'Dan Quayle' years) and serious topics like single motherhood, breast cancer and addiction. Candice Bergen played Murphy, and the show won a 'boatload' of awards (Emmys, Peabody, Golden Globe, People's Choice) including five Primetime Emmys for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for Bergen.

5. "Providence" was set in Rhode Island, but Rhode Island is the setting for what other show?

From Quiz The State of TV

Answer: Family Guy

"Family Guy" is an animated sitcom about the Griffin family, set in the fictional city of Quahog, Rhode Island. Quahog is also the name of a hard-shell round clam which is among the longest lived marine species in the world. In case you're curious about the other choices: "The Office" is set in the very real city of Scranton, PA; the "Friends" live in New York City and "Friday Night Lights" is about a football team in Dillon, Texas.

6. Whose house was at 4222 Clinton Way, Los Angeles, CA?

From Quiz Unreal Estate

Answer: The Brady Bunch

All of the families lived in California, but it was Mike and Carol Brady who owned the big house on Clinton Way; it had enough room for 'yours, mine and' Alice! The upscale Bluths lived in Newport Beach; the Partridges, when not on their bus, lived in San Pueblo; the Tanners (not the ones from "Full House") also lived in Los Angeles, but at Hemdale Street - I wonder if they knew the Bradys? Anyway, the Brady Bunch house still exists and, if you're in the area and should wish to visit, it is located at 11222 Dilling Street, North Hollywood, California.

7. Which 1950s television show featured Rusty, a young orphan being raised at Fort Apache, Arizona, along with his canine friend?

From Quiz Arizona: On TV 1912-2012

Answer: The Adventures of Rin Tin Tin

"The Adventures of Rin Tin Tin" ran from 1954 to 1959. Lee Aaker portrayed Rusty, who was being raised by the soldiers at Fort Apache, along with his dog "Rinny", following a wagon train massacre that had killed their family. The low-budget show did have a few famous guest stars during its run, including Lee Van Cleef, Jack Elam, Harry Dean Stanton, George Hamilton and Russell Johnson ("Gilligan's Island's Professor). Fort Apache was a real military camp located in what now is the White Mountain Apache Lands. It remained an active fort until 1924 and is now part of an historic park. Although the show took place in Fort Apache, it was actually filmed in California.

8. "Dragnet", "Six Feet Under", "Big Bang Theory" What metropolitan area are these shows set in?

From Quiz (More of) What City Is That?

Answer: Los Angeles

Los Angeles is a convenient location for television programs because of all the studios in the area, not to mention the talent -- actors, crew, directors, producers -- who live there. "Dragnet" is a police procedural show that ran on NBC beginning in 1951, after several years as a radio program. Jack Webb was the executive producer as well as the star, starring as LAPD detective Sergeant Joe Friday. HBO premiered "Six Feet Under" in 2001 and ran it for five seasons. The warehouse that protects the world from potentially harmful supernatural artifacts is located seven miles outside of the fictional town of Univille. The town, pronounced Un A Ville and not You Na Ville, is very small community, as is all of the real towns I provided as incorrect options. In fact, the incorrect choices are all towns with populations under 1000 residents as of 2011. The warehouse agents, Artie, Myka, Pete, Claudia and Steve (as of season four) all live at Lena's. Lena herself works for the warehouse, but not as a field agent. The previous warehouse, Warehouse 12, was located in London, England and was where HG Wells started her work as an agent around 1889. Helena Georgia Wells was the imagination behind all of the stories taken credit for by her brother Charles Wells. At least that's the truth for "Warehouse 13".
