Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which team claimed the only Fast Forward of the race in Singapore in Leg 9?

Answer: Dan and Jordan

Departing from Pinang Peranakan Mansion in George Town, Malaysia in the morning, teams were told to take a taxi to the bus station, a bus to Kuala Lampur's train station, and a train to the country of Singapore to locate their next destination, the Victoria Concert Hall. Once there, teams needed to receive a clue from "The Amazing Race Asia" host, Allan Wu. One of the clues received was the race's only Fast Forward.

In this task, the participating team (Dan and Jordan) had to go to the Singapore Flyer observation wheel and cross from one car to another at its highest point, 165m up.

After completing this, Dan and Jordan headed straight to the next Pit Stop.
2. In the 'Pounding the Pavement' Detour task in Leg 9 (Singapore), teams needed to sell which of these?

Answer: Ice cream sandwiches

Teams not completing the Fast Forward completed a Detour task instead. For this they chose either 'Pounding the Drums' or 'Pounding the Pavement'. In 'Pounding the Drums', teams needed to find a dance troupe and learn a specific lion dance routine with drums to the approval of their instructor.

In 'Pounding the Pavement', teams needed to gather specific materials to sell ice cream sandwiches from a cart on a city street. Once team members sold twenty-five ice cream sandwiches, they would receive their next clue. Only Louie and Michael chose to complete 'Pounding the Pavement' while the other participants chose 'Pounding the Drums'.
3. Which team utilized the U-Turn in Singapore in Leg 9?

Answer: Brent and Caite

After the Detour, teams raced to Istana Park located at a specific intersection listed in their clue. Here, teams found the second of only two U-Turns on this race. This time, Brent and Caite, mere minutes ahead of some teams, decided to U-Turn their supposed rivals, Carol and Brandy, forcing them to turn around and complete the 'Pounding the Pavement' Detour task.
After finding the clue box at Istana Park, teams headed to ASL Marine Shipyard for their next clue.
4. For the Road Block task in Singapore in Leg 9, what did teams need to count?

Answer: Links in a chain

At the ASL Marine Shipyard, teams found their Road Block task for this leg of the race in which one member of each team was required to go into a warehouse and count the links on a large anchor chain to receive their next clue. Brent, Michael, Jet, and Carol all completed this task by figuring out that the correct total was five hundred twenty-one, a total that they needed to write out for their attendant before receiving their route info.
After the Road Block, teams took a taxi to MegaZip Adventure Park in Sentosa Island to get another clue.
5. Which team was eliminated in Singapore in Leg 9?

Answer: Carol and Brandy

At Sentosa Island, teams took a steep zipline twelve hundred feet through a jungle canopy to get their final clue sending them to the Pit Stop at Singapore's Marina Barrage. Dan and Jordan, having won the race's only Fast Forward task, ended up taking their first first place victory of the race.

They both won motorcycles, of all things. Carol and Brandy, U-Turned earlier in the leg, were almost able to catch up but failed to do so in the very end and became the seventh eliminated team.
6. In Leg 10, teams completed tasks in and around which Chinese city?

Answer: Shanghai

In Leg 10, teams departed from the Marina Barrage in Singapore and were told to fly themselves to the city of Shanghai, China. All four remaining teams took the same flight arriving the next morning in this metropolis. Once they arrived, teams needed to take a taxi to the town of Zhujiajiao located on the outskirts of Shanghai.

Here, they would need to hop into a gondola on one of the village's many canals and find the next clue box on a dock down the stream.
7. In the first Road Block task in Leg 10 (in China), team members needed to prepare which of these?

Answer: Noodles

In Zhujiajiao, teams found a Road Block task waiting. For this task, team members needed to learn how to make a kilogram of long noodles known as la mian. In the cold weather, this was difficult for Caite, Jet, Jordan, and Louie, but once they finished this lengthy and precise task they received their next clue from the then-shortest-man-in-the world, He Pingping, who stood at a solid two feet three inches.

After this, teams needed to head back into Shanghai proper to find a district known as Taikang Lu.
8. In Leg 10, teams needed to complete a task relating to which Chinese industry?

Answer: Fashion

Once teams reached the Taikang Lu district in Shanghai, they found their next clue box waiting in a narrow street. Here, teams needed to enter a nearby fashion studio, and using a sketch as their only guide they needed to search the studio for the proper outfit and accessories needed to dress one of four waiting models.

When they matched the proper items to their models they would be able to receive their next clue sending them to the Hongkou Football Stadium.
9. In the second Road Block task of Leg 10 (in China), which of these was true?

Answer: The team member who did not complete the previous Road Block had to complete this one.

Arriving at the Hongkou Football Stadium, teams found a surprising twist- a second Road Block in a single leg of the race. For this Road Block, only the partner who did not finish the earlier noodle-making task could participate, so Brent, Cord, Dan, and Michael competed.

In this task, the selected member had to head into the stadium and solve a large ninety-six piece puzzle. They then had to distribute the pieces, in order to ninety-six people in the bleachers and have them flip over for them to receive the seat number holding their next clue. Because of the wind, this made for a very frustrating task.
10. Which team arrived at the Pit Stop in Leg 10 (in China) in first place?

Answer: Jet and Cord

After the Road Block, teams headed to the metro to take a train to their tenth Pit Stop, the Shanghai Science and Technology Museum. Here, Jet and Cord took a fourth win for themselves winning a trip for two to Alaska as a reward. In the end Louie and Michael were the last team to arrive at the Pit Stop but they were spared from elimination and told that they would need to complete a Speed Bump task in the next leg of the race and that it could possibly mean the end.
