Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In Leg 11, teams remained in what Asian country to complete their tasks?

Answer: China

Teams left their tenth Pit Stop in front of the Shanghai Science and Technology Museum in Shanghai, China and realized that Leg 11 of the race would remain in this metropolis. For their first task, teams needed to travel to the Garden Bridge, a location which would be better known to locals as Waibaidu Bridge.

Some teams took several hours to accomplish this. Upon their arrival, teams needed to proceed on foot to their next clue at Longhua Temple found in the nearby streets.
2. Which team needed to complete the final Speed Bump task of the race in Leg 11?

Answer: Louie and Michael

Because Louis and Michael were the last place team arriving at the Pit Stop in Leg 10, both needed to complete a Speed Bump task in this leg of the race. Upon arriving at Longhua Temple in Shanghai, both found their Speed Bump clue asking them to head to a nearby courtyard, take a bowl of change found at the base of a state, and toss coins into the top part of an incense burner close to the temple. Once both members finished this ritual of good luck, they could return to the temple and proceed with the rest of the leg with the hope of making up their lost time.
3. For the Road Block task in Leg 11, teams needed to count over five hundred of which object?

Answer: Buddha statues

At Longhua Temple, teams located their Road Block task for this leg of the race. In this task, one member of each team was required to head into the Arhat Hall of the temple and count out five hundred and twenty three gold statues adorning the chamber.

This included hundreds of individual Buddha statues lining the walls. Teams needed to show this total to a monk to receive their next clue and if they guessed incorrectly they would need to wait ten minutes before reentering the room to count. Caite, Jet, Dan, and Louie took on this task.
4. Which detour task in Leg 11 was completed by all four remaining teams?

Answer: 'Pork Chops'

After the Road Block, teams hopped onto motorcycles (and into sidecars) to be taken to their next location, Fangbang Road in Shanghai. Here, teams located their Detour clue hiding amongst the shops and stalls of Yuyuan Garden. This required a choice between 'Pork Chops' and 'Pork Dumplings'.

In 'Pork Chops', teams headed to a nearby stamp shop and searched amongst thousands of wooden and rubber stamps for the two matching their team names and featuring a pig on the bottom. All teams chose this over 'Pork Dumplings' in which they would've needed to find a restaurant and transport ten orders of dumplings across the market.
5. Which team was eliminated in Leg 11?

Answer: Louie and Michael

In the end of the leg, teams completed the Detour and were told to search the Riverside Promenade in Shanghai for their final Pit Stop of the race where they would be greeted by Phil and the world's tallest man. Here, Brent and Caite took their first win of the race and they were given a trip for two to Spain courtesy of (who else) Travelocity.

After a lengthy leg in Shanghai, Louie and Michael ended up stepping on the mat after sunset and they became the final team eliminated from the race.
6. In Leg 12, what was the final destination city of the race?

Answer: San Francisco

In the beginning of this race's final leg, teams opened their clues on the Shanghai Riverside Promenade and were told to get themselves to the airport to catch a flight to San Francisco, California. Because of their arrival time at the airport, all three teams were able to get tickets on the same flight back to the United States.

When they arrived, they needed to hop into a taxi to locate their next clue at the Battery Godfrey overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge at Fort Point.
7. Which team member completed the tower-ascending Road Block task in Leg 12?

Answer: Brent

After finding their first clue in San Francisco, teams needed to complete a riddle that would lead them to their next route marker on the second floor of Coit Tower standing atop Telegraph Hill. Here, teams found their final Road Block task of the race. For this one, one member of each team needed to get into a harness and use a mechanical ascender to reach their next clue at the top of the 200ft. building. Dan, Cord, and Brent finished this final Road Block before making their way to the Lucasfilm headquarters at the Letterman Digital Arts Center.
8. In Leg 12, teams raced to the Letterman Digital Arts Center and found a clue in front of a statue of which fictional character?

Answer: Yoda

Arriving in front of a Yoda statue outside the Letterman Digital Arts Center, teams received their next clue and were escorted by Stormtroopers to the site of their next task. Here, one member needed to direct their partner who would be wearing a motion-capture suit in an open space. Using little more than a computer screen and a microphone to guide, the director had to lead their partner through two virtual stages of a video game to reach their next clue (which would spin on the screen when found).

This would instruct teams to head to a tiki bar known as Tonga.
9. In their final task in Leg 11, teams had to order posters by which of these criteria?

Answer: Order of team elimination

Arriving at Tonga, teams were given a large chest with their next destination written on a sticker on top. This chest needed to be taken with them as they went to the Great American Music Hall. Upon their arrival, teams could open the chest to find eleven psychedelic pictures representing the previous eleven legs of the race.

These would need to be magnetized to the board in order of racers eliminated from the game (including non-elimination legs). If they put up their pictures in the correct order, an attendant would give them their final clue of the race.
10. Which team won "The Amazing Race 16"?

Answer: Dan and Jordan

After a final memory puzzle, teams were told to make their way to San Francisco's Candlestick Park where they could cross the finish line. In the end it was Dan and Jordan who were able to race through the stadium and land on the mat in first. This was accomplished with only one previous win on the race (after using their Fast Forward).

They raced over forty-thousand miles through nine countries and won the million dollar prize. They were followed by cowboys Jet and Cord in second and dating couple Brent and Caite in third.
