1. After Phil started the race, teams jumped into their cars and drove to Soho. Where did teams need to retrieve their camping equipment?

Answer: Eastern Mountain Sports

Ten teams of four departed from New York Harbor in New York City and crossed the Brooklyn Bridge into Manhattan. Teams arrived at Eastern Mountain Sports, picked up four sleeping bags, camping bags, and a tent, and received their clues. One team ended up knocking over an entire display in the excitement and other teams got lost along the way.
2. What team from season 1 did teams receive a clue from in Manhattan?

Answer: Kevin and Drew

After obtaining their camping equipment, teams had to cross Manhattan to find Kevin and Drew, who would give teams their clue at a hot dog stand. Only one racer recognized the two teammates from the first race after driving ninety blocks to find them.
3. After receiving their final clue in New York, teams drove to Washington Crossing, Pennsylvania. When team was first to cross the Delaware?

Answer: Aiello

Teams arrived at Washington Crossing Historic Park and had to paddle across the Delaware River to retrieve a flag. Teams then needed to take the flag to the other side and watch a flag-folding ceremony before getting their next clue. During this task, teams had to battle the current in order to cross the river, and some teams traveled quite a bit downstream.
4. During the Detour task, how many teams completed the 'Buggy It' task in Mount Joy, Pennsylvania?

Answer: Three

The Gaghan, Aiello, and Linz families participated in the 'Buggy It' task which required teams to pull a buggy 1.5 miles to the point where they would receive their clue. The remaining seven teams completed the 'Build It' task which required that they build a working miniature waterwheel from parts provided.

The Weaver family attempted the 'Buggy It' task, but decided to complete the other task when they realized it was too demanding.
5. Which family was eliminated at the end of leg 1 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania?

Answer: Black

After taking separate Detour tasks, the Linz and Black families drove to the pit stop and the Linz family narrowly defeated the Blacks. The first team to arrive was the Godlewski Family, who won $20,000 for their victory. Second and third positions were filled by the Gaghan and Weaver families.
6. After departing from their first Pit Stop, what road did teams have to drive to?

Answer: Shoehouse Rd.

Teams drove twenty miles to York, Pennsylvania to find the Shoehouse on Shoehouse Road where they could find their next clue. Their next clue told them to drive one hundred and ten miles to Washington D.C.
7. Which family was the first to arrive at the U.S. Capitol Building's clue?

Answer: Weaver

Once teams found the clue at the Reflecting Pool, they were told to receive a suitcase from a man in a black limousine on 3rd St. since it would be required for their next task. Many teams missed the clue initially because they assumed it was at a different reflecting pool.
8. When teams participated in the second leg's Road Block, what was the response to 'the sky is blue'?

Answer: The sea is green

During the Road Block at the Tidal Basin near Jefferson Memorial, teams needed to choose one person to do a 'covert operation'. In the task, the one team member would take the briefcase looking for 'fellow agent'. When they found one they'd say 'the sky is blue' and the agent would say 'the sea is green' and they'd switch the briefcase for one containing the clue.
9. During the Detour in Virgina, one task was called 'Heat of the Battle'. What was the other task called?

Answer: Heat of the Night

In 'Heat of the Battle' teams had to enter the a Civil War reenactment and carry five wounded soldiers across the battlefield. In 'Heat of the Night' teams needed to fill twenty lanterns with oil, carry them to a table and light each one. After one of the tasks, teams could head to the Pit Stop.
10. Which team was eliminated in the Middleburg, Virginia Pit Stop?

Answer: Rogers

After going in the wrong direction in Pennsylvania, the Rogers Family was unable to recover from the bad directions. In the end, they were narrowly defeated by the eighth place family, the Paolos.
