Leaving Kostroma, teams waiting to start the seventh leg of the race were transported to the Church of the Holy Trinity at the Borisovo Ponds in Moscow to receive their first clue of the leg. Daniel and Ryan, who used their Salvage Pass to grant themselves an hour's head start, were first to discover that the race would be taking them to Lisbon, Portugal. Upon arriving in Lisbon, teams had to make their way to the Torre de Belem where they were required to learn the Portuguese song Fado do Cansaço.

Answer: Umbrellas

After their performance at the Torre de Belem, teams needed to locate a specific tram station in front of Fábrica Sant'Anna and take a ride on Tram 28 to the plaza at Largo das Portas do Sol. There, they found the Detour task waiting for them. Because the tram had stopped running for the night, all teams took the same tram. In 'Wet', teams needed to visit a street festival known as Agitagueda where they would have to count the number of yellow umbrellas being hung overhead.

When they counted two hundred ninety-seven they would receive their next clue. All five teams went with this task though Ashleigh and Jarrod switched..and switched back.

Answer: One

In 'Dry', teams needed to collect a washing basket from a lady in the town square, then locate an item of clothing suspended on the washing lines throughout the streets marked with the name of their particular lady. When they returned both items to their waiting woman, they would receive their next clue. Ashleigh and Jarrod attempted this task, but switched back to 'Wet'.
When the Detour was completed, teams were instructed to make their way to the Museu do Fado to find marked convertibles with which they could drive to Fisherman's Beach in Cascais and their next clues.

Answer: Seafood

Reaching the Fisherman's Beach, teams found a Road Block asking for the team member who was 'a good catch'. In this task, the selected teammate needed to source and deliver two kilograms of mussels, one large fish, and five kilograms of octopus to a local restaurant known as Cozinha Portuguesa, two kilometers away. Once there, the team member needed to eat a fish stew known as cataplana to get their next clue.

Hereni, Cat, Tyson, Ryan, and Jarrod completed this task.

Answer: Ashleigh and Jarrod

After the Road Block task, teams needed to make their way to the next Pit Stop at the Pena National Palace in Sintra, Portugal. Daniel and Ryan were the first team to arrive for a second leg in a row and this time they won themselves two Business Class tickets to the city of Abu Dhabi for use after the race.

After failing to get their act together during the Detour, Ashleigh and Jarrod ended up arriving in last place. They were, however, spared by the first and only non-elimination leg of the race.

Answer: Daniel and Ryan

In Leg 8, teams left Portugal and flew east to the city of Dubrovnik on the Adriatic Sea in Croatia. Upon arriving, teams needed to make their way to Ploča Gate where they had to carry large stones up to the Watchman's Keep. Upon arriving, what teams didn't know was that they needed to count the stairs they took to reach the guard with their clue.

They needed to get that number right to get a clue sending them to the Old Harbour. There, the next morning, teams found the only Fast Forward clue of the race, allowing one team (Daniel and Ryan) to skip all tasks and head directly to the Pit Stop.

They did so, but only by shaving their heads to get Friar Tuck haircuts at a Dominican Monastery. They placed third at the Pit Stop.

Answer: Tying a tie

Leaving the Old Harbour, Ashleigh and Jarrod ended up locating their Speed Bump task taking them to Dubrovnik Cathedral to do an extra challenge for placing last in the prior non-elimination leg. To complete the task, both of them had to tie a necktie on one another and, when that was done, they could resume the race with the other teams. Meanwhile, the others made their way to the next clue at Big Onofrio Fountain which would present them with a Road Block task.

Answer: Face-first rappel

Finding a Road Block task at the Big Onofrio Fountain, teams were asked 'who's always looking ahead?' For this challenge, one member of each team needed to make their way to Fort Bokar where the selected member had to perform a face-first abseil down the exterior wall. Sally, Ashleigh, Carla, and Cat completed this task, meeting with their team members at the bottom of the fort wall and receiving their next clue.

Immediately after the Road Block task at Fort Bokar, teams were given their next clue leading them along the city walls to Fort St. John and a second Road Block task which required that the team member who didn't complete the previous task make their way to the exterior wall of the fort and climb up it to storm the city and get their next clue. Because of the previous Road Block Tyson, Jarrod, Hereni, and Jesse were forced to complete this task.

Answer: Cat and Jesse

In the end of the Leg, teams completed their second Road Block and made their way on foot to the eighth Pit Stop of the race, Fort St. Lawrence. There, Sally and Tyson won their first leg of the race, earning themselves a $10,000 voucher and Platinum Velocity Frequent Flyer Card with Virgin Australia. Daniel and Ryan, who took the Fast Forward, ended up arriving in third despite their efforts to forge ahead.

In the end of the leg, Cat and Jesse were the last team to arrive and they ended up being eliminated in fifth place, leaving four for the last two legs.
