His father named him for the famous magician. One of the Chicago detectives accused him of naming himself after Harry Potter, and later called him "Gandalf".

2. Tommy Tomm was one of the two people who died in the opening scene. What did he do for a living?

Harry was called in to investigate because their hearts had exploded in their chests. There was no other signs of forced entry or foul play in the hotel room where Tommy and a young college student were found dead.

he dead girl was, Linda Atwater, she was also a friend of Grace Cutler's. She was played by Shannon Boodram. Linda, Grace and Jennifer Atwater had all gotten involved with the supernatural during a party at a club owned by a vampire.

He had apparently shot himself in the head. Cutler had actually faked his own death and started practicing black magic. He was trying to avenge the death of his daughter.
