Darla sired a drunken Angel. He was the most evil vampire for many years. When he got his soul back, he began helping Buffy in her quest to save the world from evil, this is until they have a night of passion and he turns evil once more. So much for a happy honeymoon!

Although never said in the series, Joss Whedon marked The Masters age at roughly 600 years.
