He actually says "I'm just a kid." This is his answer to questions he can't explain to you. He uses a different excuse when you beat him at Sphere Break. He says, "My goggles fogged up." To be fair he knows alot but NOT everything like he claims to.

You have two chances in the game to beat Shinra at Sphere Break. The first is when you enter the Sphere Break tournament in Luca during Chapter 3. You have to win three games to win the tournament. After winning two game you see Rikku sinking to her knees saying, "Oh! So close!" Yuna says, "Who beat you?" The scene swithches to Shinra sniggering and he says, "All I have to do is outplay Yuna and the tournament is mine!" Yuna replies with, "You're mine!" and Shinra says, "The probability that you will win is slim at best!" At this point he is defeatable but he can be a little difficult to beat.

However if you lose to him you can win the Dressphere from him in Chapter 5 if you challenge him in Luca and beat him.

Via Infinito is a very difficult place to get through. The first 40 Cloisters are pretty much Okay as the boss after 20 Cloisters is a Spider called Aranea and he is pathetically weak, and on Cloister 40 the Black Elemental does not prove too much of a challenge either.

At Cloister 60 however things get a lot more difficult. Cloister 60 is home to Concherer, a large shelled creature with a huge amount of HP and an attack that WILL kill a party member instantly (the damage is well over any amount of HP you may have). Things get even more difficult at Cloister 80. Chac protects floor 80 and again is a real difficult boss to kill (even more so than Concherer!) Chac only has three attacks however they are all pretty nasty.

The first is a physical slap attack which causes high damage, (not as much damage as Concheres attack however) the second is Heavens Cataract which hits all party members for high damage, and finally he uses a Stone Stare attack which you CANNOT defend against even if you have a Ribon or a Stoneproof accessory equippeed and this attack causes the biggest problem as Chac may attack a petrified character and shatter them which eliminates them for the remainder of the battle. On Cloister 100 you meet an enemy called Paragon and he is actually EASIER than the previous two bosses (you can actually Bribe him and get throgh the battle without a scratch). Trema is also less difficult than Concherer and Chac as if you use a Soul Spring on him he cannot cast Meteor, Flare and Ultima and his physical attacks are much easier to handle. By now you must be thinking it must be one hell of a prize for doing this and you would be right and you will not be disappointed. You receive the Iron Duke Accessory which greatly increases your attributes you get +100% HP, +100% MP, +100 Strength, +100 Magic, +100 Defense, +100 Magic Defence, +10 Agility, +100 Accuracy, +100 Evasion and +50 Luck.

This quest is mega hard but well worth the effort!

Wakka had very little love for the Al Bhed during "Final Fantasy X" but after meeting Rikku and seeing that the Al Bhed were not all bad like he thought he eased up on them. The name of his and Lulu's baby is symbolic of his change of opinion of the Al Bhed.

The Masamune is also a Celestial Weapon from "Final Fantasy X" (also it is the name of the weapon the bad guy Sephiroth wields in "Final Fantasy VII") and Auron wields this huge sword. The World Champion is also a Celestial Weapon which belongs to Wakka but it is not even a sword it is a blitzball covered with sharp blades.
