Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. One quest from each of Tyria, Cantha and Elona start players on their journey to the Far Shiverpeaks. At the conclusion of these quests, which outpost do players find themselves at?

Answer: Boreal Station

In Tyria, the quest 'What Lies Beneath' can be obtained from Len Caldoron in Lion's Arch, and leads players to a chasm in North Kryta Province. 'I Feel The Earth Move Under Cantha's Feet', obtained from Minister of Maintenance Raiugyon in Kaineng Centre, takes players a short way into Bukdek Byway before sending them deep below the earth to investigate the strange happenings. Over in Elona, Bendah in Kamadan offers players the 'Hole of Istan' quest, which leads to a crack in the landscape in a distant corner of the Plains of Jarin.

Although these three quests are different, they ultimately end at the same place - Boreal Station. Just before this, however, the quest 'The Beginning of the End' is automatically started, and involves fleeing from a rampaging group of Destroyers to reach an Asura Gate which will lead to the aforementioned Boreal Station.

It should be noted that to receive the initial quests on each of the continents, players must be level 10 or higher. Entering the underground tunnels triggers the Journey to the North effect for players under level 20.

This boosts their health and energy to that of a level 20 character, thereby preventing them from being at a disadvantage when fighting the more powerful foes of the Far Shiverpeaks and beyond.
2. The Eye of the North is a huge outpost located in which explorable area?

Answer: Ice Cliff Chasms

Shortly after departing Boreal Station, players will find themselves fighting wurms, Avalanches, Frozen Elementals, and Mountain Pinesouls, among other things. At the heart of the Ice Cliff Chasms is a frozen lake, and built atop that is the Eye of the North outpost. Home to many Ebon Vanguard operatives, the Hall of Monuments and the Scrying Pool, players will find themselves returning to the Eye of the North frequently throughout their journey. Ice Cliff Chasms connects to Norrhart Domains in the north, Boreal Station in the southeast, and the Battledepths in the west.
3. Which of these cannot be found at Gunnar's Hold?

Answer: Glint's Challenge

The Norn Fighting Tournament involves fighting five random opponents in a row using Dwarven Boxing skills and without being knocked-out, and then finally squaring up against Magni the Bison (or Palawa Joko, who appears as the final foe on occasion). Despite being a repeatable minigame, it does have some unique perks. For example, players can unlock two new heroes by defeating them (Xandra and Kahmu). As mentioned before, the quest is repeatable, but it does cost 100 gold to participate, which will automatically be removed from the player's inventory when they accept the quest.

Kilroy Stonekin, a dwarf with a penchant for flailing fists and knocking some good old-fashioned sense into others, offers a series of quests, the most notable of which is his Punch-Out Extravaganza, which takes place in a solo dungeon. Players box their way through a swarm of Stone Summit Dwarves, with the help of Kilroy, to reach Fronis Irontoe, the boss of the dungeon. Like all dungeon quests, this is repeatable, and is an excellent way for characters to work towards the Survivor title, as losing all health does not result in death. Players enter a 'downed' state in which they must use the STAND UP! skill to regain all their energy before the 10-second timer expires and they actually die.

Polymock opponents can be found in outposts across the Far Shiverpeaks, Charr Homelands and Tarnished Coast, and Fonk, an Asuran, can be battled in Gunnar's Hold. In the game of Polymock (which was based on the real-life 'Pokemon' phenomenon), players choose three creature pieces and must battle their opponents pieces until they are all defeated. Polymock pieces can be found in end-of-dungeon quests, and also as rewards for defeating Polymock opponents.

Glint's Challenge is accessed from the Central Transfer Chamber. Players must defend a baby dragon from an onslaught of Destroyers, who besiege the arena in ever-increasing waves. Completing the challenge yields Destroyer Cores and Cloths of the Brotherhood, which can be used to create unique armour sets for "Eye of the North" heroes.
4. What state is the dragon Drakkar in?

Answer: Frozen in ice

Frozen beneath the surface of Drakkar Lake's eponymous body of water is champion of the Elder Dragon Jormag, Drakkar. The Norn who inhabit the region are said to be afraid that the great beast might reawaken and lay waste to them and the Shiverpeak mountains that they call home. Though Drakkar remains dormant in "Eye of the North", he comes back to life before and during the events of "Guild Wars 2".
5. Which of these dungeons is not located in the Far Shiverpeaks?

Answer: Catacombs of Kathandrax

The Catacombs of Kathandrax can be found in the south-eastern corner of Sacnoth Valley, in the Charr Homelands. It is a fiery, lava-filled dungeon with many perilous foes and traps.

Darkrime Delves is found along the northern edge of Bjora Marches, and is filled with Jotun. The dungeon quest, 'The Misanthropic Jotun Principle', leads players deep into the dungeon to give Havok Soulwail what for.

Raven's Point, found in Varajar Fells near the place where Olrun Olafdottir can be found, has an abundance of Destroyers, and as such, isn't for the faint of heart. Fortunately, the perks of the Dwarven title rank can help significantly, as long as the party is strong enough to fend off the Destroyer threat.

Fronis Irontoe's Lair is the dungeon in which 'Kilroy Stonekin's Punch-Out Extravaganza' takes place. It is one of only three one-level dungeons, the others being the Ooze Pit and the Secret Lair of the Snowmen.
6. Where in the Far Shiverpeaks is Gwen's Garden?

Answer: Just outside the Eye of the North

Gwen's Garden, in the Ice Cliff Chasms, is the only place in the Far Shiverpeaks where players can find Red Iris Flowers growing. They are grown by Gwen herself, as a reminder of her home in Ascalon before the Charr destroyed it in the Searing. During the annual Wintersday celebrations, players can find a Jingle Bear and a White Jingle Moa in Gwen's Garden if they complete a series of quests for an NPC in Eye of the North.
7. Located at the northern edge of Drakkar Lake, just west of Sifhalla, is which dungeon?

Answer: Sepulchre of Dragrimmar

The Sepulchre of Dragrimmar is a two-level dungeon which can only be fully explored and conquered by accepting the quest 'The Anvil of Dragrimmar' from Outrunner Remlok, who waits just outside the dungeon. The primary bosses in the dungeon are Elemental creatures: Fragment of Antiquities, Regent of Ice, and Remnant of Antiquities, the latter being the final boss.
8. What blessing can players receive from Norn at most resurrection shrines?

Answer: Norn Hunting Party

There are four ranks to the Norn Hunting Party blessing. The first rank can be acquired simply by talking to a Norn stationed at a resurrection shrine (provided players can best them in combat first). This will reward them with 1 Norn reputation point for every foe the party kills. Every 25 kills will result in a random bonus for each player, be it increased health for a limited time, a huge bonus for killing bosses, or the next rank in the blessing. Rank 2 awards players with an extra 2 reputation points every time they get a kill. Likewise, rank 3 awards 3 bonus reputation points, and rank 4, the highest rank, yields a substantial 4 additional reputation points for each kill. If players do not receive a Hunt Rank increase as a bonus, they can try their luck by speaking to a Norn at a resurrection shrine who may reward them with the increase.
9. The 'rabbit hole' in Drakkar Lake pays homage to which classic comedy film?

Answer: Monty Python and the Holy Grail

The killer rabbit from "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" served as inspiration for this unique little landmark in Drakkar Lake. A single rabbit will lead players down into a small glade in stark contrast to the rest of the explorable area. Once the rabbit gets to the bottom, it will turn hostile and spawn a few more rabbits, as well as a sizeable amount of Vaettir and a boss. Such a large number of relatively high-level foes in such a small space can easily overwhelm even the toughest of parties.

It is advised that the party sends an expendable party member to trigger the outbreak, and then picking the foes off one by one from a safe distance. The following-a-rabbit-down-a-hole motif also pays homage to the classic tale "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" by Lewis Carroll.
10. Which outpost connects Bjora Marches with Grothmar Wardowns?

Answer: Longeye's Ledge

Owned by Olfun Longeye, Longeye's Ledge serves as a pit stop for playings making the jump from the Far Shiverpeak mountains to the dangerous home territory of the Charr. Aside from a merchant and a storage chest, Longeye's Ledge offers little else, acting primarily as a thoroughfare for players.
