Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Melee and Bulletproof are the only versions of what buyable item?

Answer: Vest

Some of the only preemptive defensive items in the game, Chris/Sheva can don the Melee and Bulletproof Vests if they shell out the money to buy them from the shop between Chapters. The Melee Vest can be bought early game for 10,000 gold and it'll halve damage taken in close combat; the Bulletproof Vest is buyable after the halfway point of the game (Chapter 4-1).

The latter costs the same as the Melee Vest and halves bullet damage, but it can be worn overtop the Melee Vest. You'd think they'd get hot, what with it being West Africa. Priorities though, right?
2. Chris' partner, Sheva, bears what last name?

Answer: Alomar

Getting connected with Chris Redfield on his way into the villages of Kijuju Autonomous Region in the very beginning of the game, Sheva is a BSAA agent out to uncover the truth behind the events occurring in the region and, at the most, unearth information regarding Umbrella's influence in Africa which, as she later describes, may have been responsible for her parents' deaths. Because of Sheva's presence in the game, "Resident Evil 5" can be treated as a two-player cooperative game with one person controlling Chris and the other in the role of Sheva.
3. Found in its Beta form, what recurring "Resident Evil" enemy is found in the Umbrella labs in Chapter 5?

Answer: Licker

Lickers are some of the more iconic and awful creatures of the "Resident Evil" world having been unleashed in Raccoon City in "Resident Evil 2" and "Resident Evil 3: Nemesis". They return in "5" in a new form, having been refined a bit more with the Progenitor Virus in Tricell's labs.

They still suffer from poor eyesight, relying on loud noises to hone in on their prey, but odds are you'll spend more time firing at them to put them down; they just appear in such large numbers to avoid them entirely.
4. Killing snakes found throughout the Kijuju Autonomous Zone will usually result in which of these dropping?

Answer: Egg

There are four different types of Eggs in the game, three of which heal and one of which (the Rotten Egg) harms. Although Green and Red Herbs and First Aid Sprays are necessities in ensuring Chris and Sheva heal up throughout their adventure in survival horror, Eggs are an unexpected good eat, giving either of them a quick boost of health if they have nothing else handy.

Many of these can be found in nests, often guarded by snakes, throughout the earlier Chapters of the game.
5. There's only one of these fought throughout the game, and it's one of the strongest Plagas-infected enemies to be found. Which is it?

Answer: Ndesu

Referred to as El Gigante when encountered in Spain in "Resident Evil 4", this bulky creature reappears with a vengeance when Chris encounters it in the port in Chapter 2-3, and it seems to be bigger, now able to toss telephone poles at the players with ease. Chris/Sheva will fight this thing while they have a gun-mounted vehicle at their disposal, so while it'll be more fearsome a foe, you'll also have more fearsome firepower to reveal its Plagas and put an end to it.
6. What corporation, allegedly in Africa for scientific research, is found to be partnered with Umbrella?

Answer: Tricell

As the story develops, Chris and Sheva, in Africa on behalf of the BSAA, come to discover that Tricell, the pharmaceutical company responsible for the recent activities in the Kijuju Autonomous Zone, is affiliated with Umbrella in a major way. Chapter 5 links the two together as records indicate both are parts of the same grand plan, performing research on the different viruses encountered in the series. Tricell, in particular, investigated the Progenitor Virus from flowers grown in the region.

It's from this that the team was able to develop Uroboros.
7. Which of these weapons is a Shotgun?

Answer: Ithaca M37

One of the first weapons found in the game, the Ithaca M37 can be grabbed from a silver case in Chapter 2-1. It's a great weapon to strike foes at close range, but it's far from the strongest Shotgun in "Resident Evil 5"; Chris/Sheva will also find the M3 and the Jail Breaker, and if the Ithaca M37 is fully upgraded, they'll get the Hydra, available in the store.

The SIG P226 is a Handgun, the Dragunov SVD is a Rifle, and the L. Hawk is a Magnum.
8. Which of these Grenade Launcher rounds actually exists and can be purchased following a full completion of the game?

Answer: Nitrogen rounds

Although a number of types of rounds appear in the game-- SIX OF THEM!-- the Nitrogen Round is the only one of these four that exists. Chris and Sheva, at points, can use their Grenade Launcher to fire Explosive Rounds, Acid Rounds, Nitrogen Rounds, Flame Rounds, Flash Rounds, and Electric Rounds, most of which won't be available to buy in the shop until after the first run-through of the game.

The Grenade Launcher is found in the labyrinth in Chapter 4-1.
9. Which character transforms into Uroboros Aheri when exposed to the Uroboros Virus?

Answer: Excella Gionne

One of the final antagonists of the game, Excella acts as Wesker's closest companion, there to unlock Tricell's full potential in providing research on the Uroboros Virus. Though she becomes a consistent figure throughout the second half of the game, she's not fought until Chapter 6-2 when Wesker transforms her into Uroboros Aheri.

She's ambitious, but expendable...at least in Umbrella's eyes.
10. If you take the first letter of the previous nine answers, you'll be able to spell the name of an unexpected character. What's this person's last name?

Answer: VALENTINE

Jill Valentine, thought to be dead after a prior mission with Chris on behalf of the BSAA, makes a grand reappearance working under Wesker's guidance. Chris and Sheva will face off against his former partner at the end of Chapter 5 when it's revealed that she survived falling off a cliff.

The catch is that she's mind-controlled and the only way to fix things is by removing a gemstone stuck to her chest, controlling her every move.
