Answer: Darth Vader

In the game, Darth Vader is a ground/space hero. His Force Crush destroys any single vehicle, and his Force Push destroys infantry within a certain radius. In space he commands a special group of Tie Fighters, from which he can call for extra wing men.

Answer: Captain Antilles (Sundered Heart)

Captain Antilles is only a space hero with his ship, the Sundered Heart. He is essentially an upgraded Corellian Corvette. Boost Engines makes the ship go faster at the cost of weapon power, and Weaken Enemy targets a group of enemies and... weakens them. He was killed in "A New Hope" by Darth Vader aboard Princess Leia's ship.

Answer: Admiral Piett (The Accuser)

Admiral Piett is the strongest Empire space hero, commanding the incredibly upgraded "Accuser" Star Destroyer. His destructive Proton Beam focuses on a small ship or a hard-point, and his Tractor Beam can trap a ship to give his gunners maximum damage at short range. In the movies, Piett commands the flagship "Executor", and dies when a suicidal Rebel pilot kamikazes the bridge.

Answer: Red Squadron

Red Squadron is Luke Skywalker's X-Wing squadron, which destroys the first Death Star. The Lucky Shot ability does much more damage than a normal shot, and the Lock Wings gives a speed boost at the cost of weapon damage. The Red Squadron is commanded by Wedge Antilles (not Captain) after Luke's special mission assignments.

Answer: Emperor Palpatine

The Emperor is one of the most powerful heroes in the game, but if he dies, the Empire loses. His Force Lightning fries multiple Rebel troops, and his Force Corrupt (arguably the best power in the game) converts troops in a certain radius to the Empire. He dies in the second Death Star.

Answer: Kyle Katarn

Kyle Katarn is a Rebel hero and smuggler who is not mentioned in the movies. His Sprint and Thermal Detonator can work together to destroy buildings or large groups of energy troops. He is similar to a speeder in his ability and strategy.

Answer: Boba Fett (Slave I)

Boba Fett is a mixed land/space hero, and these are one of each type of ability. His Flamethrower sprays destruction to many troops, and his Seismic Charge destroys multiple fighters behind him. His part in the movies ends when he falls into the Great Pit of Carkoon.

Answer: R2-D2/C-3PO

This is the limited ground battle usefulness of the humorous pair of droids. Their main strength is stealing tech from the Empire. The Repair Vehicle is the most useful (in my opinion), as it can bring health to a powerful vehicle. The Control Turret ability allows them to hack into a turrets and swing their allegiance to the Rebels.

Answer: Colonel Veers

Colonel Veers and his powerful AT-AT, "Blizzard 1", cause much destruction to Rebel forces and buildings. The Maximum Firepower ability charges up the cannons to deliver a devastating blow to enemies. Deploy Stormtroopers deploys a squadron of stormtroopers to surprise the Rebels.

In the movies, Veers led the successful assault on Echo Base on Hoth, barely surviving the destruction of his AT-AT.

Answer: Obi-Wan Kenobi

Obi-Wan, the venerable Jedi Knight, is a great support to the Rebel troops, and equipped with a lightsaber, can cut through many troops. The Force Heal ability heals a group of Rebel troops within a certain radius. The Force Protect ability lessens the damage to friendly troops around a certain radius.
