Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The main villain of Story Mode, Dr. Bad Boon, expresses a desire to marry which one of the monkeys?

Answer: MeeMee

It's probably not a surprise to most, but Dr. Bad Boon is in fact a baboon! He's stolen all of the bananas from AiAi. In the story of the game, AiAi sets off to retrieve the bananas and stop Dr. Bad Boon's nefarious plots.
2. In which party game must you knock your opponents off the stage to win?

Answer: Monkey Fight 2

Six of the party games have a "2" attached to them. This is because versions of these party games were all seen in the original "Super Monkey Ball" game for the GameCube: Monkey Race 2, Monkey Fight 2, Monkey Target 2, Monkey Billiards 2, Monkey Bowling 2 and Monkey Golf 2.

Monkey Fight 2, in particular, is a party game that I highly recommend. The goal is to knock your opponents off the screen using boxing gloves. To make things more interesting, there are charge-up shots and a plethora of powerups in the mix as well! I've played it with friends before, and it sure is a lot of fun!
3. Say you're on the 16th level of the Advanced stages, which is called Mad Rings. If you travel through the green goal of this level, on what level will you end up?

Answer: Level 18

Blue goals take you to the next level. Green goals take you two levels ahead. Red goals take you three levels ahead. Interestingly enough, this color scheme was nonexistent in "Super Monkey Ball"; the amount of levels you would skip was different for every goal.

A common misconception is that green and red goals in Story Mode are useless. While they won't allow you to skip any levels, they will give you a hefty point bonus. It's a great way to get a top score!
4. Falling off of the stage during one of the bonus levels will cause you to lose a life.

Answer: False

While you won't lose a life, you won't gain any points for passing through the goal. The bonus levels tend to appear every 5 or 10 levels.
5. In Monkey Baseball, what happens during a Homerun Shift?

Answer: All jump ramps are available; all pockets are "Out"

The Homerun Shift is the ultimate challenge in this party game. which can be played with either a computer player or a human player. You either get a home run, the pitcher walks you, or you're out.

There are 5 ramps available to get a home run, but the pitcher can block several of them, making it tough to score. But if you do manage to score, it can be very lucrative.
6. For Challenge Mode, what is the hardest level of difficulty?

Answer: Master

Master is the only level of difficulty that is not available when you start playing.

Unlocking it is quite challenging. You'll have to complete all sixty levels of Expert and Expert Extra without using a continue! It's no easy task!

Master has twenty stages in total. Ten of these levels form up Master Extra.
7. The thirteenth level of Expert, called Opera, features hundreds of what object?

Answer: Staircase steps

To finish this level, you'll need to carefully navigate down all the stairs until you reach the goal, which get steeper as you descend. If you want to collect all the bananas here, you'll have to do ascending as well.

It gives a whole new meaning to the phrase, "watch your step".
8. Dr. Bad Boon wants to make all the bananas taste like what food?

Answer: Curry

To stop this plot, you'll need to finish all one hundred levels of Story Mode. The game will take you many exotic locations, including a boiling pot, a bubbly washing machine and outer space!

You might notice that most of the stages in Story Mode are very similar to ones found in Challenge Mode. Fortunately, the final world breaks this pattern, providing ten highly unique levels that are not seen anywhere else in the game!
9. You can increase the number of lives you have in Challenge Mode by buying Gifts.

Answer: True

After unlocking all the party games, you gain access to a special Gift menu. You can buy cutscenes from Story Mode, the credits minigame, and extra lives. Each life costs 500 points each. If you're struggling with Challenge Mode, increasing your life capacity is the ultimate cure!
10. Nintendo is the name of the final level of the game. The stage requires you to navigate on a copy of what popular Nintendo console?

Answer: GameCube

Some might consider this the hardest level in the entire game. It took me hundreds of tries to complete it the first time.

The difficulty with this level is that the GameCube rotates every couple seconds. Deft precision and navigation is required to not fall off. Once the GameCube is right-side up, the disc slot will open, revealing the goal inside.
