1. Before you can enter the Temple of Darkness, you need to find a legendary candle to create enough light for you to be able to see inside. What is it called?

Answer: The Blue Candle

The party reaches the Temple of Darkness, but they can't see a thing when they try to enter. Sheena suggests that they ask the Elemental Research Laboratory scientists in Meltokio.

2. In order to get the candle, you need to compete in the coliseum and rescue Kate. Which characters must you defeat in order to save her?

Answer: 2 Duelists, 1 Sorceress

Kate has been locked away for letting Lloyd and the others escape, and the other scientists insist that they rescue her before handing over the Blue Candle. You can choose whichever character you like to complete the battles. This is the first taste you get of the colosseum, before it becomes available as a side quest later in the game.

3. When you enter the Temple of Darkness with the candle, there is a chest in the area before you cross the bridge, which contains an EX Gem. Which level is the EX Gem?

Answer: 2

There are two Level 2 EX Gems in the temple, as well as one Level 3 and one Level 4. You can also pick up a Headband and a Shadow Dancer here. Considering the size of the temple, there are very few treasures to collect.

4. How many Shadow Fragments must you bring to the altar to awaken Shadow?

Answer: 5

There are five small shadow fragments scattered around the temple, which must be rounded up and returned to the altar to form the completed Shadow. The Fragments follow you automatically when touched (or at least, they are supposed to - they often get stuck on corners), but they will not pass light.

Answer: Green

There are sets of red-eyed blocks, green-eyed blocks, and blue-eyed blocks throughout the temple. You need to work out the correct combination to push the blocks into, to ensure that you can reach the bottom level of the temple.

6. When the Shadow Fragments are combined, they form Shadow. What colour are Shadow's main eyes?

Answer: Blue

Shadow is a large, purple creature, with pale blue eyes. He also has a large purple eye on the centre of his torso, which has a red glowing pupil.

Answer: Efreet

Shadow has 800 TP, while Efreet has 850. This seems like an odd fact, as both Efreet and Shadow use more physical attacks then other Summons such as Celsius, Volt, or Undine, who all concentrate more on magic attacks. Shadow's HP, at 30000, is by far the highest of the Summon Spirits, and he also has an impressive attack figure of 1520.

8. Which gem is received after defeating Shadow?

Answer: Amethyst

According to the description of the Amethyst, it represents love, hope, and truth. Diamond is obtained from defeating Origin, and Sardonyx is from defeating Volt. Black Onyx can be found at Flanoir, and increases HP by 30%

9. You can return to the Temple of Darkness to fight Abyssion, the strongest enemy in the game, after collecting all the Devil's Arms. What is Abyssion's HP figure (on normal difficulty)?

Answer: 120000

Abyssion is an incredibly tough boss to defeat, and will most likely take multiple attempts to beat. Abyssion has no weaknesses, but is not resistant to any magic either. If he can be defeated, your characters obtain what are potentially the strongest weapons in the game - The Devil's Arms, and Presea will gain a new title.

10. Abyssion will use attacks from every playable character in the game, except one. Which character does not have their attacks and techniques mimicked by Abyssion?

Answer: Sheena

Abyssion can use attacks from any of the other eight characters, and will take out the corresponding Devil's Arm weapon to do so. Sheena's attacks are not copied, so Abyssion never uses her darkness weapon, The Gates Of Hell.
