Marluxia and Larxene are the two Organization members in charge at Castle Oblivion. They work together on plans to take over Organization XIII. They decide to take over due to the conflicts between the neophytes and the original six Organization members; the Nobodies of the six apprentices of Ansem the Wise. Marluxia is the brains of the uprising.

Marluxia accompanies Roxas to Twilight Town to teach him this lesson. He explains how hearts are collected, and the differences between Heartless. Those without an emblem are called "Pureblood Heartless". Those with emblems are "emblem Heartless". Only Emblem Heartless will release the hearts Roxas is meant to collect for Kingdom Hearts.

This occurs when Axel reveals that he knows Marluxia is a traitor. Axel starts to attack, but Marluxia pulls Naminé in front of him. Axel claims that he doesn't care and will go through her if he has to. Sora enters the room shortly after this, and Marluxia uses Axel's words against him. He tries to convince Sora to kill Axel in to protect Naminé.

Larxene electrocutes her opponents with lightning, Demyx drowns his enemies in water, and Axel sets his enemies aflame. Marluxia's attribute of flower can be explained as the original intent of him to be female. Flower petals appear when he summons his weapon, and are often surrounding him in the "Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories" manga.

Answer: Scythe

Zexion has a lexicon, Vexen uses a shield, and the arrow guns belong to Xigbar. Marluxia's scythe has a long handle and a blade-like tip. Pink flower petals appear when he summons his weapon.

Answer: Graceful Dahlia

Hallowed Lotus, Fickle Erica, and Dainty Bellflowers are all names of scythes that Marluxia can use in "Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days" mission mode. However, in "Chain of Memories", Graceful Dahlia is his only weapon. All of his weapons are named after flowers. A long, negative adjective is also part of the name of every weapon.

Marluxia's joke weapon is called "Stirring Ladle". It is a long silver handle, whose general appearance resembles a scythe. A ladle is a serving spoon for certain foods, such as stew or gravy.

Each time Marluxia is fought, he has a different form. The first time he is defeated, Sora learns that it is not the real Marluxia. He goes to a back room to fight Marluxia the final two times. In the second and final battles, Marluxia has a large silver robot.

In the Playstation 2 version of the game, "Kingdom Hearts Re: Chain of Memories", the robot is different in the second and last battles. In the original, "Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories", however, the robot has the same form in each battle.

Vexen warns Sora about Marluxia in the Twilight Town level. He says that Sora has to be careful, or he'll become Marluxia's pawn. Bewildered, Sora asks who Marluxia is. Before Vexen can answer, however, he is blasted by Axel. Axel kills Vexen for revealing too much, offering to let him be "nothing instead of being just nobody." Vexen loathes Marluxia, but follows his orders due to his fear of Marluxia telling Xemnas.

Xion and Kairi do not appear in "Chain of Memories". Naminé is Kairi's Nobody; a witch who can control memories. Marluxia used her to plant false memories of a promise to protect her in Sora's head. He hopes that once Sora is completely convinced, Naminé will talk him into taking down the older Organization XIII members.

Marluxia says this line to Sora in "Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories". He says this during Sora's second battle with him. It is a line meant to intimidate, and initiates the battle.

Marluxia first appears with his hood up at the crossroads at the beginning of Sora's story. He tricks Sora into following him, and lures him to Castle Oblivion. Inside the Castle, he tells Sora that his previous magic skills are useless. He mysteriously proclaims; "To lose is to find, and to find is to lose. That is the way of Castle Oblivion".

After Xaldin is defeated, Sora can find Marluxia's Absent Silhouette portal at Beast's Castle. His Data Replica can be fought at a location called "The garden of Assemblage". An Absent Silhouette is a ghostly-phantom. There are five in the "Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix" game: Vexen, Lexaeus, Zexion, Larxene, and Marluxia. All of these Organization XIII members were destroyed in "Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories".

Xigbar, Xaldin, and Luxord do not appear in "Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories". Marluxia was upset with Axel because Axel let Naminé go, thus betraying Marluxia. Axel responded by telling Marluxia that he was the real traitor, not Axel. He goes on to say that Larxene has already paid for her treacherous ways. He threatens to kill Marluxia, to which Marluxia responds, "You can try".
