Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which of the following item themes (excluding the wallpaper and carpets) has the most and least items in its series (i.e. western theme, etc.)?

Answer: mossy garden theme; pirate ship theme

Even though the classroom theme has fifteen items as well as the mossy garden theme, the pirate ship theme has a lesser amount of items than the mad scientist theme! Both of those themes have fifteen items in them, as previously noted. The pirate ship theme, however, has only six items! The mad scientist theme has seven items, the construction theme has twelve, and the space theme has ten items.

The themes' spotlight items are as follows: the mad scientist theme's is the unknown machine, the construction theme's is the cement mixer, and the mossy garden theme's is the garden gnome.

However, the classroom theme has three spotlight items, which are the skeleton, the hamster cage, and the podium. The pirate ship theme, on the other hand, has no spotlight items. You have to get all of them from Pascal by giving him a scallop seashell when he visits your town's beach.
2. How many clothing items are in the zap suit set?

Answer: eight

There are four zap suits and four matching zap helmets. The suits are the red, blue, green, and pink zap suits. The helmets are also red, blue, green, and pink. When you wear one of the zap suits, it makes a superhero noise as you put it on. It sounds really cool.
3. Which animal group has the most amount of neighbor characters?

Answer: cats

That's right, there are twenty cat characters! That's a lot of cats. As for the bears, there are seventeen of them, which is still many. There are thirteen rabbits and twelve frogs. Because there are so many of each, I'll just tell you all of the cats' names.

They are as follows: Bob, Mitzi, Rosie, Olivia, Kiki, Tangy, Punchy, Purrl, Moe, Kabuki, Kid Cat, Monique, Tabby, Stinky, Kitty, Tom, Merry, Felicity, Lolly, and Ankha.
4. What species is new to "Animal Crossing: City Folk" (as neighbors, not NPCs)?

Answer: monkeys

Monkeys as a concept are not new to the "Animal Crossing" game series. In the "Animal Crossing: GCN" game, an NPC named Porter is in charge of the train station in that town. The train station was used as the place where you could move to another town (game card) or visit another town via game card.

It was also where you started in the game with Rover. The monkeys in this game are actually neighbors, not NPCs. Bulls as a category are new, but the neighbors (Angus and Rodeo) were considered cows in "Animal Crossing: Wild World." The monkey neighbors are as follows: Champ, Nana, Simon, Tammi, Monty, and Elise.
5. Pavé shows up at which "Animal Crossing: City Folk" event and/or holiday?

Answer: Festivale

Pavé is a peacock who appears during the Festivale. If you have leftover candy from Halloween, this is your chance to get rid of it! She gives you different items for different combinations of candy. Festivale occurs once a year on a different date each year.

The furniture she gives you matches her look and style, which is a teal background with a white diamond in the middle. Carnivale doesn't exist, and a ghost named Wisp appears past midnight when he sees you. When you donate 500,000+ bells to your town fund, you get a fountain placed in it. If you throw an axe into the middle of the fountain, Serena will appear and give you either the silver or golden axe.
6. The mail is delivered by Pete at nine in the morning and six at night.

Answer: No

Pete the pelican does deliver mail at nine in the morning. However, he does not deliver mail at six at night. He delivers the mail at five in the evening. Pelly, the clerk during from seven in the morning to ten at night, seemingly has a crush on Pete. However, she refuses to admit this to anyone. It is sometimes hinted on the Bulletin Board and your neighbors sometimes mention it.
7. How many new fish and bugs combined are there in the game in relation to the other "Animal Crossings"?

Answer: sixteen

There are nine new bugs in "Animal Crossing: City Folk" and seven new fish. You may have said fifteen, but if you said it because the bagworm is new, think again! The bagworm appeared as the fortieth bug in "Animal Crossing: GCN", and it "took a break" in "Animal Crossing: Wild World." The new bugs are: raja brooke butterfly, giant petaltail dragonfly, diving beetle, walking leaf, violin beetle, miyama stag beetle, cyclommatus beetle, golden stag beetle, and the centipede.

The new fish are: pike, surgeonfish, butterflyfish, napoleonfish, lobster, moray eel, and the ray.
8. What is the event/holiday that Jingle appears called?

Answer: The Night That Jingle Comes to Town

A weird name, isn't it? Jingle is a reindeer that appears on Christmas Eve from eight at night to midnight, "giving toys to all of the good girls and boys." If you talk to Jingle, he will give you an item from the Jingle series. However, if you talk to him again, he won't give you anything. That's because he only gives you one gift per year.

But there's a way to get more items. If you change your accessories and/or your clothes, you can talk to Jingle and fool him into giving you another item in the Jingle series. Keep at this to get them all.

It's kind of ironic that you are playing a trick on someone that wants you to be good this year, don't you think?
9. What is Kapp'n's job in "Animal Crossing: City Folk"?

Answer: bus driver to the city

Kapp'n is the bus driver to the city who talks to you about random topics along the way. AS you can tell, he talks like a crew member of a ship. Kapp'n has done all of these other jobs before, except for one of them. In "Animal Crossing: GCN", Kapp'n will take you to an island if you connect a GBA connection cord into a GameBoy Adavnce or GameBoy Advance SP. You will meet a special island NPC (both Ankha and Drift are examples of former ones) and you can visit them whenever.

In "Animal Crossing: Wild World", Kapp'n has a minor role in the game.

In the beginning of the game, you ride in a taxi cab to your town, and Kapp'n asks you your beginning questions, such as where you want to live, your name, your gender, your town, etc. However, the Marquee clerk's name is just "Clerk."
10. Nat is in charge of the fishing tourney.

Answer: False

You can't be certain what species Nat is, but he is some sort of reptile. He looks like he could be a chameleon. Anyway, Nat is not in charge of the fishing tourney, but he is in charge of the Bug-Off. To win the Bug-Off, you must catch the most amount of bugs in the time limit. Chip the beaver is in charge of the fishing tourney.

In the fishing tourney, there are two contests. You get a silver trophy for catching the biggest specific fish, and a gold trophy for catching the biggest fish out of any.

There is no silver Bug-Off trophy.
11. What item can you get for exchanging 10,000 shopping points?

Answer: kart

The kart is a model of the Standard Medium (M) Kart in "Mario Kart Wii". It is the most expensive shopping point item in the game. You can acquire the other items from Tortimer on various holidays. You can get the sailboat model on Explorer's Day, the wheat bundle on Harvest Moon, and the leaf on April Fool's Day.
12. What are the prices of the three most expensive items in the game? (all answers in bells)

Answer: 1.2 million; 1 million; 800,000

There are three items that are above the 750,000 bells mark. The most expensive item in the game is the royal crown, which sells for 1.2 million bells. The second most-expensive item in the game is the crown, selling for 1 million bells. The third most-expensive item in the game is the throne, which sells for 800,000 bells.

The throne is a spotlight item as well. In the City Folk guide, it is the only item with its own category. The king's beard and royal shirt go with the accessories, the king's beard selling for 8,000 bells. GracieGrace also sells many expensive items, but none compare to these three items!
13. There is only one way to acquire the Mario Theme items. What is the only way?

Answer: shooting down balloons

When you pop a balloon in the sky with your slingshot, you get a present. Sometimes, often rarely, it is a Mario Theme item. These items have the graphics of the old Mario games, so it looks like a 2-D room when you place them in your house. After shooting at least eight items down from the sky, you can shoot the golden slingshot down if it appears in the sky.

The silver slingshot appears randomly in the shop.
14. You can obtain three points a day by selecting an option when you talk to Tom Nook.

Answer: False

In order to obtain three points a day, you go to the TNPS (Tom Nook Point Service) to go to visitor points. There, you get three visitor points for visiting the store at least once that day. When you talk to Tom Nook, the options are only to sell an item(s), look at your catalog, and find out the daily turnip prices.
15. You use a cell phone to call the bus company in order to take a bus to the city.

Answer: False

It's a very strange, yet interesting method for how you get the bus to the city. When you walk on the platform near the gate at the top of town, you can click on a post at the end. It gives you the option of taking the bus to the city. If you say "yes," the bus will immediately arrive to the post and you can board the bus from there.
