Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. How many different skill levels are there in the golf game on "Wii Sports"?

Answer: Three

There are Beginner, Intermediate, and Expert levels. Each can be played separately in the 3-hole courses or all together in the 9-hole course.
2. How many points are needed to achieve a Pro-rating in the golf game?

Answer: 1000

Your point tally will either go up or down after every 3-hole or 9-hole game in reflection of how well you played in that course. As your points earnings approaches 1000, it will become more difficult to earn points because the game will become more difficult.
3. What button on the Wii remote do you press to step up to the golf tee?

Answer: A

Before you step up to the tee, you can do practice swings without pressing "A" to get a gauge on how hard you are going to hit the ball and how far it will go down the fairway. If you hit the ball too hard, you will either hook or slice the ball, directing the ball to the left or right, respectively.
4. You can use four clubs in Wii golf. In this list, which is the missing club: Putter, Iron, Driver, _________?

Answer: Wedge

The wedge is usually recommended to get out of the bunkers, or sandtraps. The driver is used for driving down the length of the fairway, the iron is often used when hitting the ball out of the rough, and the putter is used on the green.
5. In accordance with real golf, "Wii Sports" simulates the different course terrains. Which of these is NOT a terrain on Wii golf?

Answer: Red Zone

Red Zone is a football term. The green is the light colored grass around the hole, the fairway is the stripped grass that stretches down the course, and the rough is the darker, longer green around the fairway that is most difficult to hit the ball out of.
6. What button do you push to read the green?

Answer: 1

Reading the green helps you putt more accurately. The hills of the green's terrain can be seen in contour shading that designates higher elevation a lighter color and lower elevation as a darker color.
7. What is the golfing term used for the achievement of 2 under par for a single hole?

Answer: Eagle

Par is the word used to describe the average number of strokes for a course. A Birdie is one stroke under par, and eagle is one under that. The only way to do better than eagle is to get an albatross.
8. Which is not something you need to account for before hitting the ball?

Answer: The mood of your Mii

The Mii is a virtual character that you create and save to the Wii console. The Mii can look like you but it does not have personality traits, it is not moody. Thus, the mood of your Mii does not affect how you hit the ball. The wind, the terrain, and how hard you swing are the only significant factors.
9. Who is the first to tee off when starting a new hole?

Answer: The person who finished in the fewest strokes on the last hole

The is another way in which "Wii Sports" golf is in keeping with real golf. Even if the player is in last place, if they completed the hole with the fewest strokes, they will go first on the next hole.
10. After everyone has teed off and are beginning their second stroke, which player goes first?

Answer: Player furthest from the hole

The owner of the farthest ball swings until they are not the farthest anymore and then the next farthest person goes! This is true whether on the fairway or on the green. It allows all the players to stay close to one another instead of going up and down the fairway if they are taking turns.
