Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Gadgetzan is run by which race?

Answer: Goblins

Pretty much the hub for all that is Tanaris, Gadgetzan is the first location players will access if arriving from the north. This rather nice town is home to a number of neutral traders and quest-givers as well as profession trainers, and because of this a lot of players of both factions will visit it to level and quest.

Many of the features of this town run on clockwork, a major goblin feature, and players will find one of the most southerly flight paths in Kalimdor at this location. Gadgetzan is one of only two 'friendly' locations you'll find in the entirety of the zone.
2. What is the name of the only neutral port city in Tanaris?

Answer: Steamwheedle Port

If you follow the road northeast out of Gadgetzan, the sparsely-populated road will lead you to the sleepy port town of Steamwheedle Port, home to a fair number of quest NPCs for both Alliance and Horde players. Oddly enough, the only way to reach the town is by Hearthstone or by foot; although Steamwheedle Port is on the coast of the Great Sea, players can not use it to travel by ship and there is no flight path connection (the closest of these is Gadgetzan).

The beaches to the north and south of this town are populated by turtles while the city itself is a member of the Steamwheedle Cartel, much like Gadgetzan.
3. Caverns of Time is certainly the unique location. Which of these can not be found inside?

Answer: Siege of Uldum

Caverns of Time, found within the southeastern mountain range which runs parallel to the coast on the Great Sea. Within this mystical locale, players can access instances that occurred in the past at different points on the map and in time. Doing so will ensure that history does not change itself. Your success in the mission is crucial; you wouldn't want to have to rewrite history, right?
Some of the instances found here are only accessible with the "Burning Crusade" and "Wrath of the Lich King" expansions, so players level 70 and above are recommended.
Oddly, a Tavern can be found in the Cavern.
4. Lost Rigger Cove's only 'WANTED' character is which of these?

Answer: Andre Firebeard

Filled with Southsea Pirates, Outriggers, Swashbucklers, and Dockworkers, Lost Rigger Cove is a fairly large pirate hang-out on the eastern coastal region. A number of the hostile forces here will drop necessary quest items and various different ones need to be killed in order to fulfill quest objectives. Andre Firebeard, for example, has his name written on the Wanted poster in Steamwheedle Port, and returning his head to Security Chief Bilgewhizzle in the same town will result in a fairly nice reward. Coincidentally, this NPC also gives the major quest leading to Lost Rigger Cove. Firebeard can be found wandering around the campire in the center of the town portion of the cove.
5. What can be found at Land's End Beach?

Answer: Cuergo's Gold

The only way to reach this small stretch of land to the deep, deep south of Tanaris is to circle around the southeastern mountains bordering the sea and swimming to solid ground. Land's End Beach is a relatively remote patch of sand filled with Snapjaws though they shouldn't be too much of a threat.

The Upper, Middle, and Lower Map Pieces are all picked up from Southsea crew members at Lost Rigger Cove, but they lead you to this location and an Inconspicuous Landmark guarded by pirates. Once you defeat them and steal Cuergo's Key, you can open the treasure chest kept here and claim Cuergo's Gold, a rather nice flask containing a strong alcoholic beverage.

The rest of the items in the chest shouldn't be too bad either.
6. How many 'Gahz'ridian Ornaments' need to be collected and returned to the Broken Pillar?

Answer: Thirty

'Gahz'ridian' is a neutral quest given by the goblin Marvon Rivetseeker when you speak to him, the sole occupant of the science camp at Broken Pillar. He will ask you politely to take the Gahz'ridian Detector (a large headpiece which seeks out any small pieces and trinkets) and comb the desert for any of these objects. My suggestion would be to check the southern ruins; these usually yield the highest concentration of buried treasures. If you help Marvon with both this and the 'Stone Circle' quests, you'll eventually be given quests that take you to the Swamp of Sorrows dungeon, Sunken Temple, which is of a slightly higher level range than Tanaris.
7. Dunemaul Compound contains a fair many ogres. Who is their leader?

Answer: Gor'marok the Ravager

Gor'marok the Ravager will be found in the cave near the Dunemaul Compund protected by a number of ogres from Dunemaul Ravagers and Enforcers to Mages and Warlocks. Found in the central-southwest portion of Tanaris, this rather small area is home to a few different quests, mostly revolving around the defeat of the forces found here. Gor'marok the Ravager needs to be killed for the very same quest.
This particular horde of ogres also wanders around the Eastmoon and Southmoon Ruins locations, guarding those precious Gahz'ridian Ornaments.
8. Tooga can be found in the southwest corner of Tanaris. What is the name of Tooga's wife?

Answer: Torta

Tooga can be found south of Thistleshrub Valley, and really the only thing you can do with this talking turtle is perform an escort quest, taking the two of you literally across the map from one end to the other. Having wandered many miles into the foreboding deserts of Tanaris, Tooga was sent to find food for himself and Torta.

When you return him to the waiting female turtle, she'll be angry that he got lost. Although he'll reward you for your effort, he'll still have nothing to show for his trip across the zone and Torta will make him go into the sea to get dinner...under her watchful eye. Tooga is level 45 and will attack enemies that you meet on the trip.
9. What zone is found to the west of Tanaris?

Answer: Un'Goro Crater

Because Tanaris is on the southeastern coast of Kalimdor, players can only make their way across the northern hills near Gadgetzan to the lower-leveled area to the north, Thousand Needles, or they could head to the southwestern edge of the zone to find Un'Goro Crater, a slightly higher-leveled zone for players level 48-55.

Besides this, the area sits along the Great Sea with no nearby islands. Mountain ranges separate the area from most others including the southern coast, and the only way to head east along the sea is from Ratchet in the Barrens, two zones to the north. Even Steamwheedle Port to the north, on the coast, doesn't allow for intercontinental travel.
10. Zul'Farrak is the only instance in Tanaris. In which compass direction is it found?

Answer: Northwest

Embedded in the mountain range separating Tanaris from Thousand Needles to the north, Zul'Farrak is a village of temples and ruins occupied by trolls for the most part. Players heading here should be in their low-to mid forties in terms of leveling. A number of quests for both Alliance and Horde players can be attempted here making it quite effective for leveling.

While Chief Ukorz Sandscalp is the final boss of the instance, players can continue through the city to summon the Hydra beast, Gahz'rilla, a rather unfriendly creature who appears near a central pool in the final portion of the area.
