Are we counting what they wrote? Let's not. I love their early stuff. It gives me a shiver up my spine to hear "Anna" or "Twist and Shout", etc. But since I am wearing a Srgt. Peppers shirt, I will admit that that's my favourite album of theirs. Absolutely amazing. Reply #10. May 03 09, 11:11 PM |

I always thought John Lennon in his early Beatles days did a better version of 'Memphis' than Chuck Berry, who did the original. The Beatles version of a song could well be different than the original artist (who might not have written their own songs anyway, as that wasn't all that common then) or similar to and just as good, i.e. 'Words of Love,' their cover of a Buddy Holly song.
