"As opposed to someone screaming fast? :)" Not all singers scream :) I don't think I've ever listened to a song that was screaming non-stop, but then I only listen to the more 'mainstream' bands. Reply #41. Aug 20 09, 6:05 AM |

Well, no one's going to be mixing up Pavarotti and Bolt Thrower anytime soon. :) Reply #42. Aug 20 09, 9:57 AM |

Not many rock bands scream scream at all. Like Van Halen, Led Zeppelin, Acdc, etc. Reply #44. Aug 21 09, 9:51 AM |

Hey, don't get me wrong, I enjoy both genres of music equally. There a slew of great artists in both and the funny thing is, both genres are more similar to each other than you might initially think. Yeah, Bon isn't screaming during Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap, right? :) At least both types of artist at least write and perform their own music. That is a whole lot more than can be said for the American Idol crowd! Two great songs: Nas: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z9jau9BLAb4 Rakim: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=42isKFQ3uHU Reply #45. Also, please keep in mind that I am not including "artists" like Nelly, Lil Wayne, Soulja Boy, etc. in my categorization of good rap. Most of that pop rap is closer to the Backstreet Boys than anything else and I couldn't agree more with your derision of it. :) Reply #46. Aug 21 09, 10:38 AM |

I enjoy metal a lot, I do like rap to a certain extent. Bon is screaming in that song, but he's singing at the same time. Bands like Atreyu, a metalcore band, is just screaming. Another thing, I condiser some R&B songs such as right round, (flo rida), to be rap. Most of the rap I like is R&B. Reply #47. Aug 21 09, 11:05 PM |

Metal, definately. I don't like rap at all really. No offence to anyone. But it's not my cup of tea. I'd rather be chilling to some Black Sabbath than "Pimpin" with eminem anytime soon. Reply #48. Aug 25 09, 7:53 AM |

Not too much of a fan of eminem but his song "Drug Ballad" has a great beat to it. Reply #50. Aug 25 09, 11:43 AM |

I love metal and absolutely do NOT like rap at all. To me, rap is crap. Reply #51. Aug 25 09, 5:58 PM |

In my opinion, to just completely pigeonhole an entire genre of music is a bit closed-minded. There is good stuff in every single genre out there. Reply #52. Aug 25 09, 7:38 PM |

I have to agree. I hate country music but Alan Jackson and Johnny Cash have made some good songs. Reply #53. Aug 26 09, 12:22 AM |

Yep. I'm not a fan of country either but have heard some great stuff from Johnny Cash. Charlie Daniels band too. Devil Went Down to Georgia is a great song. Reply #54. Aug 26 09, 12:32 AM |

Most of Johnny Cash is good. The Devil went down to georgia is a pretty good song. I like Alan Jackson's songs, Little Man, and Chattahoochee. Reply #55. Aug 26 09, 12:44 AM |

Haven't heard any Alan Jackson but can't say either way but if he's being grouped in with Cash, can't be all that bad! Reply #56. Aug 26 09, 1:22 AM |

There is nothing wrong with this, but I find it funny when two or three people are having a conversation on the chat boards and then someone says something completely random. It happens all the time and I find it funny. Reply #60. Aug 27 09, 2:20 AM |
