I hate SciFi and fantasy. Did read Harry Potter though and loved it! I'm not into crime novels either. I don't mind a romance for a bit of light relief but they come a long way from the original genre - they are not so improbale these days and the characters aren't perfect! Reply #21. Fantasy and Magic, though I read all 7 Harry Potter's and loved them. I'm just getting tired with it, and I'm into Young Adult stuff like The Clique and Lauren Myracle's books. Reply #22. Oct 04 08, 8:15 PM |

I hate classics (except for Wuthering Heights) and just plain old fiction novels, they're so boring. Reply #23. Oct 13 08, 12:35 PM |

I don't go looking for westerns and I don't pick up steel or andrews, but if someone hands me something, I read it. Reply #24. Nov 21 08, 3:01 PM |

How can you hate a genre? All are good. Although there are some very boring books and I'd rather not take their names because I might be accused... Reply #27. Dec 30 08, 8:05 AM |

Never read romance. Have worked my through most other genres. Sci-Fi once was my fave, probably forensic science detective is right now. Reply #28. Jan 20 09, 9:31 AM |

Romances. Can't stand them and have rarely come across any that were any good. If I want romance, then a good war story is the ticket because there's frequently a good one as a sub-plot in it. Reply #31. Feb 17 09, 6:45 PM |

Romances tend to get ob my nerves. I had to read some in school and ended up using 'sparknotes'. Horror novels are my favorites. Reply #35. Mar 13 09, 6:05 AM |

I don't like romance. I tried to read Romeo and Juliet but I didn't get far into it before I really got tired of it. Reply #38. May 13 09, 11:04 AM |

I don't like science fiction. But mostly I hate romance novels. Boring! If you have read one, you have read them all. Reply #39. Jun 03 09, 8:30 PM |

Science fiction and fantasy would be my least favourite genre, although there are a few exceptional authors in those categories that I do enjoy, like John Wyndham. The use of unpronounceable names in fantasy novels is extremely tedious and annoying. I like reality, so I read a lot of non-fiction or fiction based on fact (like historical novels). Not a fan of Romance either. My favourite genre is crime and mystery, particularly when it involves forensic science. And I prefer my novels without gratuitous sex, violence and foul language.
