Probably romance, because they're not at all realistic. Reply #42. Nov 25 10, 8:46 PM |

Romance and mystery/detective fiction. Some Sherlock Holmes isn't bad but I don't really like the genre. Reply #43. Nov 26 10, 8:33 AM |

I hate the so called "true stories" entitled like "Not without my daughter" or " No, Father, no" or " I was a sex slave". In Czech we call it "hyenism". Reply #44. Dec 18 10, 6:15 PM |

The whole Twilight genre - fantasy/horror/romance. It's so unrealistic and tiresome. Give me a John Grisham book any day. Reply #45. Dec 18 10, 8:21 PM |

I agree with the last two posters - "Twilight" left me cold, and I find the tendency to make money out of one's tragedy abhorrent. Not overly fussed on romantic fiction either. Don't mind some horror, John Wyndham is King of SciFi. Reply #46. Dec 18 10, 9:47 PM |

Ignoring the Twilight genre (if only we could forget it), then the genres that inspire me the least are romance novels a la Cartland, Cookson and the like, boring beyond belief, and although harmless escapism at best, give unrealistic expectations for some, Mr or Mrs Right is not out there for everybody. I also dislike Western novels, to one living in a suburban UK environment, they are unfathomable, the Icelandic sagas are more exciting and have a similar style. And I agree about John Wyndham, a seriously underrated novelist. Reply #48. Dec 18 10, 10:02 PM |
