I love cheese and a sandwitch withhout cheese is like having pumpkin pie without the wipped cream. Having American cheese sliced thin with some salami wrapped in it is always good for a snack.

Cheese is heavenly! Cheese, nuts and chocolate are my three favorite naughties. If I had to choose only one--chocolate is out. Cheese probably has a slight edge over nuts.

A cheese thread at last! Thank you. Thank you. I love it - more than chocolate. My latest favorite is smoked Gouda. I remember Martha Stewart doing show on cheese where she was with some cheese expert and got to sample so many kinds. I like to eat cheese and nuts together - how's that for fat grams? Also like certain cheeses with apple and pears.

I'm surprised there isn't a favourite cheese thread. There must be many thousands of cheeses. Two that I find irresistible are Wensleydale which is a hard white creamy tasting cheese that crumbles easily - divine. Also a French cheese called Boursin which has 2 types - garlic and pepper. They are both lovely but the pepper cheese I find almost addicitive.

I'm another cheese addict and am never without it in the fridge. I particularly like the Danish Blue, but not every brand. Some are not as good as they could be.

As my wardrobe will attest, I love cheese!

My favourites are a locally produced cheddar, so strong that it'll take the skin from the roof of your mouth, Gorgonzola and Danish Havarti.

The family gave up cheese five years ago.

It's amazing how many products contain cheese, milk or cream.

I miss grilled cheese sandwiches and pizza.

I have never been able to eat blue cheese, as I am allergic to it, would someone please describe the taste?

I LOVE cheese. It's my food favorite. I'm somewhat lactose intolerant, though, so I've cut down a great deal. I think my favorite is a good English cheddar, but there are few cheeses I don't like.

Just tucking into some Wensleydale with cranberries . Yum. Can't eat too much though as cheese is fattening.

There are some foods that I have very little resistance to so I try not to buy them as I can't stop eating them if I do. One is cheese biscuits, by which I mean biscuits made with cheese rather than biscuits for putting cheese on. The other is cheese straws. Same thing really but in different form. Cheese straws was one of the first things I was taught to make in cookery classes at school so I saw how much cheese went into them. Delicious but not good for the waist.

Lucky Lady. Blue cheese tastes very rich but also sharpish. I can't eat a lot of it as it's too rich for me but I like the taste. It's not my favourite though. I'm just eating this cheese called Castello (brand name I think) which is blue cheese mixed with creamy cheese. It has a milder flavour but is very moreish I'm shortly to have a cholesterol test so I must be more careful but they say if you drink 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar in 200ml of water before meals it cuts cholesterol and cuts blood sugar by 36% so I may try that. I tasted it and it's o.k. Better than expected - not unpleasant.

P.S. Re my above comment. I would use dessertspoons rather than tablespoons.

Mix, may I suggest a cucumber and onion salad? It also contains vinegar.

Thanks for the info on blue cheese. Yum!

You may indeed. I don't know what sort of vinegar is normally used on that.

Apparently the beneficial effects don't apply to malt vinegar (or presumably wine vinegar or balsamic vinegar). It has to be apple cider vinegar.

P.S. My husband has corrected my assumption about Catello cheese and says it's a blue dolcelatte cheese.

The least fattening cheese is low fat cottage cheese but it's still very nice. Goats cheese is another healthier option which I like very much.

Friends of mine who have given up cheese or all dairy products (one because they are allergic) have lost lots of weight and remain very slim now. They also do lots of exercise.

Some recipes suggest cider or white vinegar.

I found one without onions. It should be in your mail.
