Subject: Board Games You Used To Play

Do you remember what board games you used to enjoy playing when you were younger?

My favorite board games to play when I was younger were Fraidy Cats and Mouse Trap. I also played Monopoly, which I still enjoy playing.

What were your favorite board games to play when you were a kid?

I really liked Clue Jr. when I was little, I think mostly because it had one of those red strips that you used to read the secret answer. I also had a Beauty and the Beast game that I liked because it had a red magnifying glass like that. :)

I played (and still play): Monopoly, Clue (my favorite), Life, Scrabble, Battleship, Operation, Candyland, and Chutes & Ladders.

Risk was my favourite, followed by monopoly, cluedo and trivial pursuit. I admit that the online versions are easier, theres no lengthy setting up, and you never lose any of the pieces.

My family and I used to play Monopoly at Christmas and Thanksgiving. We should start doing that again...

I still play Scrabble, but there was a time when i enjoyed marathon games of 'Monopoly'.

I'm on of those people who can tell you exactly what she was doing when John Kennedy was assassinated - I was playing an on-going 'Monopoly' game with my husband and my former boss. neither my husband or my former boss had to be at work until noon, so we used to play 'Monopoly' in the mornings.

Chinese Checkers, Sorry and Mousetrap were my favourites, which I haven't seen anyone use for a very long time. Others are still popular so still play them sometimes. And of course Snakes and Ladders which I simply grew out of after playing for many years.

Clue,Monopoly,Battleship,Risk,Stratego,Life,Connect Four. As I got older it was Dungeons and Dragons,Trivial Pursuit, and a very involved game which I came to love called Civilization. I've never played the computer version of Cicilization, only the board game. My family for years played the same two games every Christmas, Balderdash and Scattergories, which are both a lot of fun.

Back when I was a kid:

Risk, Monopoly, Stratego, Payday, Chess, Sorry!, Backgammon, Chinese Checkers, and a host of others I am not thinking of.

Lately, though, mainly Risk with some friends now and again. Also, have started playing Chinese Checkers for money with other friends. Nothing super high stakes, just enough to make it a little more fun.

Chinese Checkers, Candyland, Chutes and Ladders

Every once in a while, my grandmother and great-grandmother pull one out and browbeat me into playing again. We start laughing, because every single time, they end up skunking me, just like always.

Tondalay-o, there's already a topic asking what your favorite board games are. I was just curious about what board games people played when they were younger and if they still like to play them. I still enjoy playing board games, especially Monopoly.

Monopoly, scrabble, risk, trivial pursuit, scattergories, but most of all...Apples to Apples! Not really a true board game, but it is sold where board games are sold. It's a great game to play with a group of people. With only a couple people, though, it's not that great.
