My all time favorite was Monopoly. You really don't see youngsters playing board games any more. They have the expensive hand-held games now. Reply #26. Aug 28 09, 10:00 PM |

I still play "Battleship" and "Risk" with friends and my children. I dislike the "Risk" game for two players, because my son and I have had games go on for 2 days. Must change up my strategy, because my sneaky son always wins. I have been playing this game my entire life, and now I am losing to a 10 year-old. Complete humiliation. :( Reply #29. As a child; Snakes and Ladders, Ludo, Sorry, draughts and chess. As a student; Trivial Pursuit, Scrabble, chess, Risk and numerous weird and strange games from other parts of the globe.. With a husband but Before Children; he couldn't and wouldn't play chess, I always lost by a billion points when we played scrabble, Trivial Pursuit was a none starter, so we decided that board games were off the agenda for a while. With Children; we now are back to random games; Sorry, Tumbling Monkeys, Snakes and Ladders anything where your education and age count for nothing. Three of us play Trivial Pursuit, three of us play Cluedo, two of us play Hnefatafl, Thud and chess. Scrabble is still off the list, even though we restricted husband to one language, daughter takes after him. Some games are just too dangerous to play in some families. :) Likewise card games involving memory for images, Boy wins every time. Reply #33. Aug 31 09, 4:09 AM |

I remember a game called "Go to the Head of the Class" from the early 60's, I think. I loved it! I guess it was one of the first 'trivia' type games. Reply #35. Sep 03 09, 10:51 AM |

I used to play Sorry, Candyland, Life, Scatagories, Imagine If and Worsed Case Scenario as a child. These days it's true that kids are not as into board games or playing in the great outdoors as they were 20 years ago. It's amaizing what technology can do. Reply #40. Jul 01 10, 2:28 PM |
