Why are sleepy stew or just over wrought with a picture of a little snake? Reply #1661. Dec 27 08, 6:06 PM |

Well yes - RJ. He is a little one. The goanna on the other hand is half as long again - and the brown snakes can go 10 feet! The red bellied black snakes are tiny little five footers! lolo Reply #1662. Dec 27 08, 6:10 PM |

MMMM sounds like good eating. I've been to the rattlesnake roundup in Abilene twice. It's like the old guy said when asked if he had fun. "Sure did" he said. "How many did you get?" asked the newspaper man. "I got none and none's aplenty when you're hunting rattlesnakes." Reply #1663. Dec 27 08, 6:20 PM |

It's the fangs one that I don't like (Anton's): eek! Blame it all on a horror movie I saw many moons ago, called 'Venom' about a Black Mamba that escapes in a house and kills everyone... *shudder* it still gives me the creeps now just thinking about it... Thank goodness we don't have that many snakes here in the UK! Reply #1664. Dec 27 08, 6:27 PM |

Well, if you took away the scores of glenda, dg, flopsy, and PDAZ when you were sll googling your answers, your team would be far behind the pirates. it's very ironic that the pirates are more ethical than the llamas, who seem to have a win at any cost mentality. Reply #1667. Dec 27 08, 10:45 PM |

This is getting nasty and uncivilised. The Pirates issued the challenge, and even though we knew you had an enormous head start, I thought it would be fun to try, against wiser counsel. So we've come through teasing and friendly insults, pirates that never sleep and play every game, pirates becoming rockets becoming llamas, being critical and becoming pirates again, llamas becoming pirates and more heckling about strategies. Maybe we should just forget the whole thing, if being competitive in a competition is a bad thing, then we just should agree to differ and not play together. It's very disappointing how it turned out, but perhaps we know each other a little better and like each other a little less. Which is a shame. Reply #1669. Dec 28 08, 4:37 AM |

>>>How about pin the tail on Anton? :D That might be painful, unless you've been drinking too much for it to register. No, a caucus race sounds about right, and being a truly British invention there is no competition involved, just much confusion followed by generosity to all. Hurrah! Reply #1676. << Jabberwok, I may have changed teams back to my true home, but I have checked all the way back through this board and I can't find one instance of me being critical about the llamas since I came back to the Chain Gang. My opinions about strategy apply equaly to both teams. Reply #1679. Dec 28 08, 8:45 AM |

>>>It's very disappointing how it turned out, but perhaps we know each other a little better and like each other a little less. Jabberwok et. al, I apologize for my antics. I deeply regret having offended you or anyone else in my posts. You have my word that I will not say anything to taunt or disparage again. Since I’m the primary cause of the dissonance you speak of, please don't make the others suffer for my indiscretions. I’ve enjoyed the flippant repartee but I understand that others may not be as keen about it. Y'all are good people and I've enjoyed meeting and conversing with you. With regard to the competition, I can only speak for myself but I thought of it as just another way to have some laughs....not a serious attempt to determine winners or lo sers. A brief word in my defense, In the testosterone charged world of martial arts and rodeo that I’m accustomed too, my probing words would have either gone unnoticed or would have been recognized as just the usual posturing. Have fun and enjoy the camaraderie. rj Reply #1680. Dec 28 08, 9:41 AM |
