Now let's get back to having some fun here!

I do have a question for Glenda(or Les, sepending on the day).

Were you watching the Ed Wood classic movie "Glen or Glenda?" when you came up with your name?

Wow. I never knew that film existed - which probably answers your question. :)

Or "Plan Nine from Outer Space"?

What movies do they show in Merry Ole England?

I have to admit to an outbreak of laughter when, on the Grand Final of Strictly Come Dancing, the host said that Lisa Snowdon reminded him of Les Dawson whenever she adjusted one of her dresses. I had to explain to my family that it was all the more hilarious because my teamleader on FT was a man pretending to be a female cat pretending to be a llama who was sometimes known as Les... I really don't know why they sometimes look at me as though I've escaped from an asylum - do you think it's my bunny ears?

I'm not sure!

But I have a movie recommendation for everyone...

"Dude, Where's My Car?"

Now you're in my territory.

Depending on mood my favourites would be something like:
- Ferris Bueller's Day Off
- Insomnia
- Stardust
- Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
- Life is Beautiful

Ferris Bueller is a fantastic film... I love the bit where he's singing in the parade :)

Talking of films, I saw 'Mamma Mia' this afternoon, I really enjoyed it, definitely a feel good movie!

Loved Ferris, must recommend "Fast Times at Ridgemont High". ( as Ferris reminds of this film)

It took 25 years to get those songs out of my head and now they're back! Mamma Mia, there they go again!

Still, it was a good film :)

Would you wear the outfits that you wore 25 years ago, Flopsy?
;)

Jeans and a baggy jumper...what's changed?
I can afford better quality knitwear now, with fewer itchy bits.

I'll have to see Mamma Mia. It sounds good!

Ferris Bueller is one of my favorites too and is my son's as well. He can recite almost the whole movie. lol. "And he didn't even have one lesson!" :)

I watched a good one on TV the other night, called "The Holiday" with Cameron Diaz, Jude Law, Kate Winslet and Jack Black. I had never heard of it before, but I guess it's a couple of years old. Great chick flick! :)

LOL, could I get into them? I don't think so.

Actually I can remember the clothes I wore more than 25 years ago, and very fetching they were too. I don't think.

I had a catsuit with wide flares, in a bright orange/red paisley pattern... and for chilly evenings a green and very shaggy goatskin jerkin/waistcoat or as my mother called it "what is that thing you're wearing?" LOL, I saw a picture of myself on an alumnus website once, wearing a poncho - I had long curly hair and platform sandals. Flower power! They've taken the page down now, thank heavens!

I remember ponchos, the proper thing, not these flimsy lacy bits that my nieces wear now.
A real poncho and a bottle of cheap Spanish Red was all you needed at a party, drank the wine, partied til dawn and rolled up for a snooze in the poncho.
