I like both, but I like the Beatles much more. I think their music was more innovative and fun. Reply #42. Jun 07 11, 1:18 PM |

I can understand females liking the Beatles more than the Stones. Mick Jagger has given the Stones a reputation for being a little anti-female, for lack of a better term, with songs like "Stupid Girl", "Mother's Little Helper" etc..Songs like that express his opinions of women, opinions not shared by his buddy, Keith. Stones any day - can't stand The Beatles - most over rated band of all time IMO . Maybe a bit of a broad statement I know , but I just don't get The Beatles ( then I do like punk rock so hardly surprising ) . I even rate any quiz that has the Beatles mentioned as "poor " . I've just re-read this thread. I still don't understand why people attempt to creative rivalries that really don't need to exist. " I even rate any quiz that has the Beatles mentioned as "poor " . " So someone has gone to all the trouble of creating a quiz, which you have - presumably - been happy enough to play, but you rate it poor simply because you don't like the content? How very grown-up of you. Reply #46. Mar 30 17, 9:10 AM |

Just a personal preference . I know its silly , but that's just how I feel about The Beatles and I get bored with Beatles quizzes ( I only play the quiz of the hour one's - begrudgilngly ) . We do have the right in life sometimes to be silly though . Many wouldn't like my choice in music - up to them and it doesn't bother me a jot . You are right about these manufactured rivalries - but it happens , and always will I guess . Reply #47. Mar 30 17, 12:01 PM |

Of course we have the right to be silly - as often as possible. It just strikes me as unfair to give a quiz-writer a bad rating, simply for mentioning a topic you dislike. Reply #48. Mar 30 17, 6:41 PM |

Not about the quiz ( for me ) just the content . I only play it if its quiz of the hour .....if I'm lucky I might guess 5 correct answers and get the bonus , the trouble being I'm not going to really rate a quiz that highly if the content isn't of much interest to me . I've written one quiz so far and if people don't like it , I'm ok with that as its their opinion . I do prefer Stones to Beatles though , by a long way ....their influence was blues music and it shows in a lot of their work . Though I like punk music a lot - I think a lot of blues is good music , and I do diversify away from punk music - I've got some Motorhead !!!! In fact quite a lot . If only you could get smiley's on here !!! Reply #49. Mar 31 17, 12:52 AM |

I would probably have to have a gun held to my head to decide between those guys, but if I really was about to die, I guess I would probably say the Beatles. Nobody else could have done what the Beatles did, but the same thing can be said about the Stones. Fire one up, kick back and groove, man. Reply #50. Apr 02 17, 10:20 AM |

I'm a fan of both, I'll go with the Beatles. I think they were slightly better musicians and songwriters. They were able to create a wider range of types of music. The Stones were and still are much blusier, which I appreciate. Overall, however, I have to go with the four lads from Liverpool. Reply #51. Apr 06 17, 5:46 PM |

I'll go with the Beatles, but I like the Stones as well. I think the Beatles were better songwriters and recorded a wider range of types of music. Reply #54. Sep 09 17, 4:38 PM |

I definitely prefer the Beatles but for my dad it would be the Stones. One of his all-time favourite bands. Reply #56. Jan 10 18, 5:05 AM |

Maybe the surviving members of both bands should join together and call themselves The Bones. I mean, I think that would probably be better than the Rolling Beatles. Rock and roll just isn't what it used to be, dawgs. Reply #57. Feb 02 18, 2:22 PM |

Beatles or Stones. It's like playing the lottery. Whatever name comes up. As for me they both are Number one. Reply #58. May 10 18, 10:06 AM |

Beatles had higher ratio of great album tracks. Very few duds. 'Flying' is one of the duds. George Harrison's dabbling in the Eastern sound was probably less interesting on 'Within You Without You' than it was on 'Love You To.' Can't think of a Stones track to equal 'Tomorrow Never Knows' or 'A Day In The Life' for sheer inventiveness. People I know personally who say The Beatles are overrated have never even heard their albums, they only know the stuff heard on the radio. I wonder if that's a universal thing. Reply #59. This seems like an odd comparison. Two totally different bands, in every way there is to be different, other than having band members who sing and play instruments. I love them both. And rockers who are still rocking, and falling out of trees, are hard not to like. What do you get when you mix Keef with Pepe LePew? Johnny Depp playing Jack Sparrow, of course. Reply #60.
