If you count Wings as a part of McCartney's solo career (and discount Linda's dire singing) then some of their works were the best. Lennon's solo efforts were a bit conceited and holier-than-thou, and Ringo and George's largely uninspired and forgettable (I have). I think they all worked better as part of a team (any team) than as solo artists. Stand back and light blue touch-paper lol. Reply #10. Sep 23 10, 7:32 AM |

I want to mention one song that is out of context here but does not deserve a thread by itself. Elton John's "Empty Garden (Hey Hey Johnny)" was probably the best tribute song to Lennon. Better than McCartney's or Harrison's. Reply #12. Sep 24 10, 6:18 AM |

Agree about 'Empty Garden', much better than the embarrasingly bad 'Here Today', a song Macca's been performing regularly in concert the last few years... Reply #13. Sep 24 10, 10:49 AM |

Here's one I would add to this list. Paul McCartney's Run Devil Run is just really good! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-gkxRfMocGE&feature=related Reply #14. Sep 24 10, 1:56 PM |

I should have written 'should be made to listen to'. I thought it was going to be the video of his live performance of the song at a PETA event, available here, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xymG6decYJo Reply #16. Sep 24 10, 2:58 PM |

I didn't use the PETA clip because I read somewhere to be careful about links that led to sites with comments that were not G rated etc.. I thought one of the comments there didn't fit in with that. Or maybe I was mistaken on what I read, (can't remember where but I swear it was on one of these boards). Anyway the live clip is better. Reply #17. Sep 24 10, 4:35 PM |

I absolutely LOVE "Back Seat Of My Car" by Paul and Linda McCartney. But it was originally a Beatles song from the Get Back sessions. Reply #20. May 21 11, 6:17 PM |
