If you count Wings as a part of McCartney's solo career (and discount Linda's dire singing) then some of their works were the best. Lennon's solo efforts were a bit conceited and holier-than-thou, and Ringo and George's largely uninspired and forgettable (I have). I think they all worked better as part of a team (any team) than as solo artists. Stand back and light blue touch-paper lol.

I want to mention one song that is out of context here but does not deserve a thread by itself. Elton John's "Empty Garden (Hey Hey Johnny)" was probably the best tribute song to Lennon. Better than McCartney's or Harrison's.

Agree about 'Empty Garden', much better than the embarrasingly bad 'Here Today', a song Macca's been performing regularly in concert the last few years...

Here's one I would add to this list. Paul McCartney's Run Devil Run is just really good!

Indeed! Yet another great rocker that McCartney bashers should be made to watch...

I should have written 'should be made to listen to'. I thought it was going to be the video of his live performance of the song at a PETA event, available here,

I didn't use the PETA clip because I read somewhere to be careful about links that led to sites with comments that were not G rated etc.. I thought one of the comments there didn't fit in with that. Or maybe I was mistaken on what I read, (can't remember where but I swear it was on one of these boards). Anyway the live clip is better.

I absolutely LOVE "Back Seat Of My Car" by Paul and Linda McCartney. But it was originally a Beatles song from the Get Back sessions.
