I always really liked "Band on the Run", which I think would qualify.

Paul had a lot of stuff in the mid seventies that I could go the rest of my life never hearing again, though - "My Love" comes to mind....

I could listen to "Working Class Hero" by John Lennon forever. Its probably my favorite song of his.

Here is one of the best. This song has always made me feel good. In my opinion one of the best love songs to tickle my ears. Very simple. A relative 'unsung' from John.

'Oh My love' - Imagine:

I'm going a little easier on McCartney these days and I gotta say, Band on the Run is a fine record. "Mrs Vanderbilt", "Helen Wheels", "Nineteen-Hundred Eighty-Five", all pretty decent songs. Venus and Mars is a good record too. I still prefer Lennon's and Harrison's solo stuff though. They seemed to put more of their heart and soul into it and nothing's more important to me than that. McCartney may have been just as passionate and I'm just not sensing it. I'm not perfect, ya know? lol

That is a good song, Bernard. I hadn't heard it in *cough* thirty-years or so *cough cough*.

Rick pointed it out over 2 years ago. But we need to listen to it now. Good pick.

This song is good for being something that it's not supposed to be. Listen to it and tell me if this is not a lament from Paul to John.

I read somewhere a long time ago that "Let Me Roll It" was his lyrical answer to Lennon's "How Do You Sleep". I sure don't see it in the lyrics but the guitar sound is identical to "Cold Turkey" and the riff is somewhat similar. That could be taken as a tip of the hat or as a jab. Not sure which but I do know Lennon had been pretty vicious toward him and his music in the press so I've always thought of it as a jab.

Jabb, I don't know if you've heard the Guns N Roses version of that song but if you ever do I think it'll strengthen your love for McCartney's version. Once again, band is just fine, singer isn't.

I'll go with "My Sweet Lord" by George, "Working Class Hero" by John, "Tug Of War" by Paul and "Photograph" by Ringo.

Anyone who knows me knows how much I love George Harrison! My favorite song by him is either "My Sweet Lord" or What Is Life?". Ringo has some awesome songs as well. "Photograph" and "Back Off, Boogaloo" are my 2 favorites by him. John had some good songs as well. "So This Is Christmas" and "Give Peace A Chance" are great. As for Paul, let's not even go there!
