Subject: Freddie Mercury........

I can hardly believe it's now 19 years since Freddie Mercury passed away.
How time flies.
Any other Queen fans out there?

Big Queen fan here, right from the very start.
I was so sad when I heard that Freddie was dead, I didn't think I could ever listen to another Queen song again. Of course the radio & TV were full of their music the next day so I had little choice in the matter.
I feel fortunate that I got to see them playing in concert 4 times in the 70s (before they got REALLY big) & in relatively small venues. Far more intimate. :)

I love Queen, always have. Freddie had one of the most amazing voices I've ever heard. "Bohemian Rhapsody" is my favorite Queen song & one of the best songs ever written. I was very upset when Freddie passed away. May he rest in peace. :'(

A sad loss to music - and I had no idea it was that long.

I loved his voice too. I sat up and listened when I heard Killer Queen for the first time, and that's probably still my favourite Queen song.

I first heard Queen while staying with friends at the home of someone who was THEIR friend...

I ended up married to him (their friend) until he died.

Yes, I am a fan :-)

I think my true favorite is "How Can I Go On," but I have a special fondness for Freddie's duet with Montserrat Caballé on "Barcelona":

I'm constantly amazed at how well they blended their two musical worlds, rock and opera.

I highly recommend this 12-parter bio of Freddie:

Great band...oozing with talent. Brian May is underrated in my eyes.

God Bless you Freddie!

I am quite possibly the BIGGEST Queen Fan out their. Having ownership of all their CD's really doesn't cut it. Posters, books, boxsets, tributes, special editions etc.. contribute to my claim, me once having forked out a QUEEN's (get it? 'QUEEN's', hahaha) ransom for the hat Freddie wore during the Milton Keynes part of the Hot Space Tour '82.

Yes, I remember the first time I heard them, it was their album "Sheer Heart Attack" in 1975, with Killer Queen.

I'm a huge Queen fan. Freddie had one of the rare voices, that could sing any type of music. His "Tribute Concert" to raise money for A.I.D.S. awareness, still gets heavy rotation in my dvd player.

Freddie was one in a million and there will never be anyone else like him. It's really hard to believe that it's 19 years since he died. I too loved his duets with Montserrat Caballe as Freddie really fancied himself as an opera singer. He was very good but I loved the Queen music as well. Hope he's happy where ever he is.

Love Queen, and Freddie had one of the greatest voices out there. Fun fact: Jani Lane's(vocalist; Warrant)favorite band was Queen.

Love Queen music. Watching the Ashes (cricket) at the moment, and can't get over how much Australian bowler Mitchell Johnson resembles Freddie Mercury. I think it's the teeth...LOL
