Subject: Odd dreams

Do you have odd dreams that you canĀ“t explain? I had one this week. I was talking to my dog. I had the Dog-Human dictionary and with the help of it I told her "p-p-p-p-p", which meant in Doggish: "Look at the stars how bright they are shining":)

I had an odd dream the other night. With the weather being a wee bit milder, my dog has been wanting to get in for a swim in the river. He kept barking at me to throw the stick in again and again and that night I dreamt that he had jumped in and was swimming under the water. Then he stopped swimming and I had to jump in to rescue him. When I got him out he was all bloated, so I put him over my shoulder and went for help. The fact that he's over 4 stone didn't seem to deter me in my dream! I got to some place that there was a phone but the operator wouldn't put me through to my husband, so I had to berate her and I woke myself up shouting away at this old bat that this was an emergency!

I had an odd & very scary dream one night, complete with what looked like The Grim Reaper! The dream was so real that I woke up in a panic, expecting to see it in my room! Now what caused me to have this dream, I'm not sure. My mother had just died so that could have been the reason. I hope never to have a dream like THAT again! YIKES! :(

I had this dream about 20 years ago, but I still remember it vividly.

I was flying down the hallway of the apartment building I was living in. When I got outside it was raining. So, I flew up higher trying to get above the clouds. After flying through storm clouds for a while I broke free and was flying, at high altitude along a beach. The ocean was to my left. I came to a cove with a huge marble mansion. I flew down into the mansion. There were a bunch of people there in togas. Most of the people were in groups of 6-8 walking in close front to back formations. I saw a beautiful blond women sitting on a marble bench.
I walked over to her and said, "This place is so beautiful".
She smiled.
I continued, "You really should see this place from the outside, come on let's go flying around, I'll show you."
She took my hand and looked into my eyes and said, "I can't leave. I'm dead. And, you can't leave either".
I tried to fly, and couldn't. I tried again. No luck.

Then I woke up.

When I was a wee bairn (hi, Rambler!), I dreamed of shoe polish every Saturday night. That was back in the days when I attended Sunday School regularly. :)

This was about 3 years ago. I dreamt that there was a fire and I died. I went to Heaven and I was surrrounded by bright white clouds. I saw a good childhood friend and my high school physics teacher. They both were calling my name and hugged me. I woke up and was breathing heavily; my boyfriend asked me if I was ok and I said yes. The next day I was alittle freaked out. Haven't had a dream like that since then.

I once dreampt that the temperature was 90 degrees-in the middle of January! (Coincidentally, it was December and my city was experiencing higher than normal temperatures, but by no means that high! And the next month was unseasonably warm as well)

Most of the dreams that I remember are the ones that don't make any sense at all. Although some dreams can be interpreted, I'm convinced that others are just random "brain dumps" of bits of information stored in our memory over a lifetime.

I was walking beside a rider on a horse. I had a spear over my shoulder. As we walked through the woods, I asked the rider, "Shouldn't we wait for Thane Godwin"? "No", replied the rider, "I don't think he survived".
As we walked, the trees thinned out, the ground became marshy and boggy, eventually flaring out to a village of thatched huts, on a piece of land jutting out into the river.

This dream took place in about 1970 and I remember it as clear today as I did then.

In about 1985, I read a report by the local Historical Society on archaeological evidence on the village.
At the time of the Norman Invasion, the village was not where it is today, instead was on a piece of land jutting our into the river! The name of the Saxon Thane, was 'Godwin'.
Almost exactly as my dream showed........15 years earlier.

Weird? Btw, it was the village my parents retired to, not where I was born or raised, so I had absolutely no connection with it, other than my parents lived there.

I don't have any inside cats but I have dreamed of waking up to cats on my bed twice in the last two months. Wonder what that means.

Last weekend, I dreamed my neighbor was a demon and was trying to get into my house.

I would rather dream about ice cream.

honeybee............I often dream about having cats on the bed, wake up and find there is! We have four of them!
Same as dreaming of difficulty in breathing and a heavy weight on my chest, turned out not to be a nocturnal visit from an incubus, but a comfortable Tom Cat!

I had a dream I attended a "Roseanne" reunion. Most of the actors were there; I don't remember seeing John Goodman, though. Even the 'secondary characters' were at the reunion and I knew who they played on the show. It was a very detailed dream and it felt real.

I also had a dream that I was at this Q & A meeting where Roseanne would answer questions from fans.
All you had to do was write your question on a piece of paper and put it in the hat.
I had my question in mind (I even remembered it when I awoke because its something I want to know) but I couldn't steady my hands to form any letters. I was panicking and I never wrote my question...at least I didn't before the dream ended.

I'd say the 'big deal' dreams are the ones where we visit places too good to be made up by our imagination and meet people and engage in communication where we learn things we would be very unlikely to know otherwise. I also hear music and names which I write down and have a growing list of genuine places and music I've never heard before in music.

One was when I visited a large building where I was shown into the bar with tables and people sitting there and at the bar, and was introduced to a few people both human and not human, asked where I was and told it was the Foundation for Education. I was told I needed to spend some time there to see it all and I said I couldn't as I was only asleep and was told 'Oh, you're one of those' and woke up soon after. I have read many such dreams and convinced we do go to other dimensions at times when asleep and are communicating with real entities there one way or another. What would be considered heaven would be very much like a few of the places I've found myself in, and angels the residents of them. Maybe they're a clue to where we could be heading next, although I've been downstairs far more times and would certainly not want to spend any time there in future in any capacity.

I dreamed about Barney Fife the other night. Can't remember anything else about the dream, just that he was in it.

I had a dream that featured Don Knotts, but I don't remember the details; just he was at my house. Kind of strange.

When I was rather young, I dreamt I was in the dark and people from my school were zombies who chased me around. I woke up, unsettled, and when I went back to bed, it started where it left off. Weird.

I have odd dreams most nights. I put it down to the medication. Very strong painkillers do some very strange things. The odd beer or glass of wine at the same time doesn't help.

The other night I dreamed that I had won the lottery. In my dream, I used my winnings to buy a small, three story apartment block in the city centre and renovated it to create three one-floor apartments for myself and my two closest female friends. It was such a 'real' dream that when I woke up I was surprised to find that i was in my bedroom in my own house!
