Today is the anniversary of the Beatles performing on the Ed Sullivan show. The Ed Sullivan theater is going retro Beatles for the anniversary.

Do you still possess vinyl of the Beatles or are you a CD type of Beatlemanic?

I love The Beatles & have ever since I was a kid. My older sister had all of their albums years ago but they are no longer around. I have a few of their CDS. It's so hard to pick a favorite Beatle song so I will list a few of my favorites: Here Comes The Sun, Hey Jude, Across The Universe, Eleanor Rigby, I'm Looking Through You, Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds, Penny Lane, Strawberry Fields Forever, A Day In The Life & so many more! George has always been my favorite Beatle! :)

I have 10 of The Beatles' LPs that were my older brother's who passed away. Now I have the CD set of their Anthology, it's in a set of 3 with 2 CDs in each. Love them, always!

I thought it was February 9, 1964 not February 6.

It was the 9th. I, apparently, forgot to mention that fact.

Thanks for the reminder.

I thought this was kind of a sad story:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2514041/Beatle-George-Harrisons-sister-Louise-82-lives-broke-rural-Missouri.html

I met George's sister twice during the course of my work. She was just the nicest person you would ever want to meet, very friendly and chatty. I asked her if she had a lot of Beatles memorabilia, and she told me that she had collected things about her brother and the rest of the group for years, even before they were famous. She said that she quarreled with her husband one day, and while she was out, he dumped most of her stuff in a 55 gallon drum and set it on fire. If he hadn't done that, she'd probably be a millionaire today.

That's an intriguing and sad bit of news Dave. I wonder what happened between the two.

This is a good clip. It's a little long, but lovely. Showing kids from today and what they feel about the Fab Four!

I have everything The Beatles released to the public plus some private things I've collected. I have all the vinyl, some in duplicate or triplicate (my husband's copies/inherited/collected). I've updated all their music but I prefer the vinyl. I still have fan magazines, scrapbooks and Beatle card collections which came from chewing loads of bubble gum.

I can't list favorite songs, it would be a mile long. I went to their concert Feb. 11 and my favorite song at the time, "Hold Me Tight", wasn't on the setlist, but it didn't matter since they couldn't be heard well anyway. Paul wrote the song but didn't care for it.

Numba nine......numba nine.....numba nine......numba nine.....

Wow, this is very cool. I love the Beatles, but I honestly don't know enough about what songs are on what albums to have a favorite album. As for the individual songs themselves, that's a pretty tough one to decide on one favorite with everything those swinging cats did, but if someone held a gun to my head, I'd have to say A Day in the Life is probably the coolest song they ever did. I hope their music will live on forever.
