B
Ham. Ham is an ancient Druid who finds himself in a mental institution in a cell next to the Badger's. Communicating telepathically, the two agree to join forces and get out of their cells. Ham can control the weather and has used his magic to make himself incredibly wealthy. He first appeared in "The Badger" #1, which debuted in 1983.
The Yak and the Yeti. The Yak is an old and powerful wizard who has gone into semi-retirement, not using magic for many years. The Yeti is his strong and hot-tempered bodyguard. The two sense Ham's presence and leave Tibet to find him. The duo first appeared in "The Badger" #1, which debuted in 1983.
Badger meets a martial arts instructor. What is this man's other occupation? | Beware the Badger!
|
Professor of Economics. Riley Thorp first appeared in the second issue of "The Badger", which went on sale in 1983. When he is not teaching martial arts, which he also practices with great efficiency, he is an associate professor of economics at the University of Wisconsin.
Comic books. Reverend Grabbit appears in the fourth issue of "The Badger", which went on sale in 1983. He convinces his followers to build a huge bonfire, intending to use comic books as the fuel. Ham appears and uses his wealth to buy all of the issues from Grabbit.
Badger's stepfather. As a child, Badger suffered years of abuse at the hands of his step-father, Larry. It was this constant abuse, coupled with the strain of serving in the Army during wartime, that caused Badger to manifest six different personalities (seven if you count Badger himself.)
Emily. Emily is a scared girl of about seven. Badger first resorted to this personality when he was reminded of his abusive stepfather by a group of marauding criminals. These events happened in "The Badger" #5, which went on sale in 1983.
Killing vampires. Senator Bob has a peg leg, because his former owner once got very hungry. Bob uses this wooden leg to kill vampires, and all he wants in return are some truffles. What a talented pig! Senator Bob Kasten first appeared in "The Badger" #19, which went on sale in 1984.
Mavis. Mavis Davis first appeared in the "Hexbreaker" graphic novel, which went on sale in 1985. Badger and Mavis met at a martial arts tournament, where the latter was killed by the evil Hodag. Badger killed Hodag and won the tournament, bringing Mavis back to life as part of his prize.
Xander. She dreamt that she was seducing Xander, not for the first time, when his head literally came off of his body! Then she was jerked out of her castle and into the claws of a dragon. After he breathed fire down upon her, the scene switched to Amy Madison standing over Buffy in the real world, ready to plunge a dagger into her heart!
The real Xander came in at that moment with some slayers, and told Amy that Buffy's sleep was always magically protected. Amy was locked inside the room magically, but she had a horde of undead coming up the wall. Nothing seemed to kill the monsters, and the slayers were becoming desperate, when Willow showed up to help save the day! Part two was also written by Joss Whedon.
Warren Mears. Buffy received her kiss from someone who held a passionate love for her and awoke from her mystical coma. We did not know who kissed her before the comic ended, as Willow told everyone they could close their eyes so the person wouldn't feel conspicuous. Willow then reported that she'd been gone so long (from the gang) because Kennedy had died for a month and then the time afterward had been awkward between them. She held Amy in a binding spell in the castle basement for awhile, which allowed Willow to run mystical traces on her.
Finally, Willow was able to see that Amy had been with the military and speculated about the Initiative being back in action. Then, Willow was suddenly sucked into a portal and transported back with Amy. And, while they'd been after Buffy all along, Warren was only too happy to have a chance at revenge for Willow skinning him at the end of "Buffy" season six. Part three was written by Joss Whedon.
a faerie. The faerie claimed to have laid her eggs inside Buffy's ear canal, and didn't want to lose Buffy before they hatched. The story started off with Yamanh showing his followers that he'd killed the slayer. This issue made clear the connection that all of the slayers had with one another, and for all intents and purposes 'Buffy' was really a decoy.
It wasn't stated clearly that this was one of the decoys who died at Yamanh's hands, but the dialogue didn't feel like the real Buffy, the girl died, and she called herself 'weak and expendable'. Joss Whedon wrote this script as well. It has been mentioned several times in the "Buffyverse" that leprechauns are not real.
Faith returned in the "No Future For You" section of season eight. In her first issue, number six, who sent her on a mission to stake some children that had been vamped along with their mother? | "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" Season Eight- Part 1
|
Robin Wood. Apparently, Faith had been dispatched to the other Hellmouth underneath Cleveland, after Sunnydale went crater-side. Wood called her there and explained about a single mom who'd been vamped. Since he decided to drop the shop talk and get a bit personal, Faith hung up on him and traveled to the location. What she did not have time to find out was that the children had all been vamped as well! She made short work of the baby vampires and headed home.
When she got home, she found Giles waiting to send on her on a mission made for her special talents. He needed her to kill a rogue slayer in England. Her name was Genevieve Savidge and Faith would have to learn some social skills to infiltrate her world. The comic ended with Faith decked out in a gorgeous green ball gown. Each segment of "No Future For You" was scripted by Brian K. Vaughan.
Roden. Roden's mission was to end Buffy and take over the slayers. He found Gigi (Genevieve's nickname) to be the most likely slayer candidate to take out Buffy. After meeting her, Faith seemed to relate to Gigi a little bit and the two sort of hit it off. But, in the end, Faith does have to kill Gigi to save Buffy. Of course, she doesn't do this before Buffy thinks she's gone evil again.
Hamilton and Drogan were characters that originally appeared on the TV series "Angel".
He inserted a containment spell inside Roden.. The first part of season eight has dealt heavily with a military presence wanting to stop the slayers. But, there has been no proof that it has any tie with season four's military operation known as the Initiative. Faith was losing the battle with Roden, a highly skilled witch (or as he said, warlock). Giles saved her by sending a nice containment spell inside Roden's body, which ended up tearing him apart from the inside out.
Afterward, he escorted Faith home, they commiserated over their mutual killing of humans, and then decided to become teammates. At this point Buffy was feeling betrayed that Giles had gone to Faith behind her back. In season five, Giles suffocated a badly injured Ben. Since Ben housed Glory inside his body, it was the only way Giles could be sure Glory was gone for good. Sadly, Roden was NOT exchanged to Osiris for Tara, who had predicted that Giles would kill Ben before it happened.
Yes. Buffy wasn't in love with the idea of flying aboard the Willow Express, so to speak. She fantasized that she was lying on a beach and Daniel appeared to give her some sun block. Willow interrupted the sequence, telling Buffy that the hot guy on the beach with lotion was more or less old hat. Willow couldn't teleport them to the location they needed to, as she was unsure of its exact location. She had to fly overhead until she felt she was in the correct spot.
Nick. Dawn told Xander that her boyfriend Kenny had been a great guy, and that he never tried to push her into anything. Then one day she met Nick, Kenny's roommate. Nick was in band, had dirty hair and smoked cigarettes. Dawn called herself a skank, and that now she was "acres of skank" due to her size. Apparently, after Kenny discovered the act he performed some kind of mojo on Dawn that caused her to become huge.
At the end of number ten, "Anywhere But Here", Buffy killed the demon Sephryllian after Willow confessed her secret. She told Buffy she'd been keeping Kennedy away from her so that she would never again chose Buffy over the woman she loved. She felt that bringing Buffy back to life in season six had caused Tara's death. It was true that Buffy' resurrection set off a chain of events that led to the death of Tara Maclay, played by actress Amber Benson.
"People who love me tend to, oh, die.". This was in "A Beautiful Sunset". Buffy came to aid Satsu, and during the fight told her that she knew Satsu was in love with her. Satsu's true love kiss had woken Buffy in an earlier issue from a magical coma. So, Buffy knew that what Satsu felt was more than a mere crush. Buffy went on to tell the slayer that she felt good for herself about Satsu's affections, but worried about Satsu's safety.
Buffy to Satsu: "People who love me tend to, oh die..maybe go to a hell dimension, or burn up, or they start letting vamps suck on 'em and they leave. they all leave, even my friends, sooner or later everybody realizes there's something wrong..something wrong with me, or around me, or..."
It was in season two's "Surprise" that Buffy told Willow she needed to stop "waiting for Xander to wake up and smell the hottie."
the scythe. Xander and Renee were standing guard when the wolves first approached. While Xander made jokes and worked up the courage to ask Renee out on a date, Buffy and Satsu were basking in the afterglow of their first time. Little by little, each of her closest people found out about her experience with Satsu. First it was Xander and Renee, who'd come to her room to report the wolves. Then, it was Andrew, who'd flown in with Willow and was feeling the after effects of a dose of Dramamine. Not longer after, Willow literally crash landed into the room as Dawn (still a giant) peeked in the window from outside. She'd been sleeping in the barn when a swarm of bees came upon her. Of course.. they weren't real bees at all..
a centaur. Dawn told Xander that she felt like a freak. He told her he was jealous and that she looked amazing. That was just like Xander to make Dawn feel special while he dealt with his pain over Renee's death. Also in this issue, Buffy met someone new- Melaka.
they were almost totally extinct.. Buffy was in the FAR future! Melaka Fray, one of only two remaining slayers, had a hard time believing Buffy was who she claimed to be. She told Buffy that it had been about "ten cen" since Buffy's time. She also told her that all the slayers had been eliminated back in Buffy's time and she was the first one called since then! Well, she admitted she was half of the newest slayer.. she had a twin who was also a slayer.. a twin brother! The first male slayer called and he was on the wrong side! His name was Harth and Melaka said he was a lurk- also known as a vampire!
Riley. Buffy fell asleep, dirty and smelly from her previous battle in the future, in Xander's bed. He tried to stop her from falling asleep, but she was able to get in four whole seconds before his voice woke her. In that sweet four second black-out she dreamed she was back at Sunnydale High at the time she first moved to town. Her mom called her down to get ready for school, and when she didn't come, Joyce and Dawn appeared at her doorway. Buffy was excited to see her mom again, dead now for several years, and she happily went off to school. There she encountered Xander, Willow, Snyder, Cordelia and Harmony. Later, she and the Scoobies found Giles, who warned of vamps trying to raise a dragon named Morgala. After a quick chat with Angel, Buffy saved the day, and crashed landed into Cordelia's party. Then she was called back to reality by the sound of Xander's beckoning voice. And though she was happy to be back to reality, a part of her was sad to leave the past behind.
Harmony Bites. "Harmonic Divergence" was the twenty-first issue of season eight. Released in January 2009 and written by long-time "Buffy" alum Jane Espenson, the issue held true the on-screen personality of our favorite vampiric ditz, Harmony Kendall. Harmony pitched the idea of a reality show that followed her as she bit people, but didn't kill or turn them. MTV loved the idea and "Harmony Bites" was born! Buffy and Willow discovered this at the same time a new slayer came on to the scene. Andrew tried to recruit the new slayer as the new reality show aired weeknights at 7pm.
Another demon who held a soft place in the hearts of "Buffy" fans made an appearance on Harmony's new reality show as her sidekick. Which "good" demon came back to star with Harmony on MTV? | "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" Season Eight- Part 2
|
Clem. Clem made his first appearance on the TV series in season six, as a pal of Spike's. He even watched Dawn when Spike was away, so Buffy could deal with some end of the world hijinks. He was seen in issue 21 as Harmony's sidekick, as she perused a tattoo parlor for an on-screen inking session. The name of the tattoo joint was Do You Ink I'm Sexy. Clem stood off to the side holding Harmony's three Pomeranians. The newest slayer, a sixteen year old Spanish Californian, attacked Harmony on air at a party hosted for her by MTV. Sadly, the attack caused widespread sympathy for vampires and Harmony was interviewed by Anderson Cooper at the end of the issue. I smell trouble for the slayer population!
Kennedy. Satsu was still in mourning over her ill-conceived romance with Buffy. Kennedy volunteered to do an evil on the newly appointed team leader Satsu. Satsu believed Buffy had "sent" the "other" lesbian slayer after her to make her feel better and/or check up on her. Kennedy made it clear that Satsu needed to move on. She said Buffy was hetero, despite a step into the lesbian wading pool. Satsu had a hard time believing that their romance wasn't spiritual for them both, but Kennedy assured her that for Buffy it was only physical.
Twilight. The stuffed toys were vampire cats. All things fanged had been made popular by the "half-wit" vampire Harmony Kendall. Twilight had fashioned a vampiric kitten under the guise of Santorio Corp. He sent one out to infect the slayers and suss out the location of their headquarters. It invaded Satsu and learned that Scotland was home base. Satsu and Kennedy led a slayer team out to sea and destroyed the stuffed menace. It was there they learned Twilight was behind this latest assault. "Swell" ended with Satsu coming to terms with Buffy's extreme lack of lesbianism. She discarded her "cinnamon" lip gloss as Harmony was being interviewed by Larry King as a vampire rights spokeswoman!
