Secretary of Agriculture. President Valentine appoints Agent 355 to protect and escort Yorick to Boston, where they would meet up with Doctor Allison Mann. In real life, the first woman to become Secretary of Agriculture was Ann Veneman, who served from January 20, 2001 to January 20, 2005.
Beth. Beth II is a former flight attendant who was in the air the moment the plague hit. Taking control of the craft, she landed it safely. She met Yorick in an abandoned church and later gave birth to his daughter, who is referred to as Beth III. (Beth I would be Beth Deville, Yorick's would-be fiancee.)
Iron Lad. Iron Lad gathered four superpowered teens together in an attempt to reband the Avengers if the adult team were ever to disband. Hulkling, Wiccan, Iron Lad and Patriot came together to fight crime and continued even after Captain America told them to stop.
Captain Marvel. Captain Marvel, a Kree warrior, died of cancer on Titan, Saturn's moon. Teddy is the result of Marvel's romantic involvement with a Skrull woman, making him a hybrid of two constantly warring races.
Patriot. Patriot used the illegal Mutant Growth Hormone to develop superpowers for brief periods; he wanted to contribute more to the team. A side effect of abuse is an increase in testiness.
Northstar. Northstar is an openly gay superhero who has been a member of the X-Men and of Alpha Flight. Hulkling says this when he and Wiccan decide to out themselves as a couple to the public.
Kang the Conqueror. Iron Lad is a younger version of Kang, who donned a suit of armor to become Iron Lad. He asked the rest of the Young Avengers to forgive him for the deeds he would do as Kang the Conqueror.
Stinger. Cassie Lang greatly admired her father's work as a hero, eventually following him into the business despite the concerns of her mother and stepfather. She had previously considered joining the Runaways.
The Runaways. The Runaways are a group of teenagers who ran away from home when the discovered that their parents were in a super-villain team known as The Pride. Both teams opposed the Superhuman Registration Act, which required all superheroes to unmask and register themselves as weapons of mass destruction.
