American Beauty. Wow. This movie sort of came out of nowhere. Kevin Spacey was, of course, magnificent, and Annette Bening was fantastic. Actually, everyone turned out an incredible performance. The only real criticism I heard of this movie had to do with the heavy-handedness of the symbolism. And yet, Nathaniel Hawthorne is much loved by critics. It's a strange world.

Titanic. At this point in the film, Rose (Kate Winslet) leaps from her lifeboat onto the doomed liner to join her newly-found lover Jack (Leonardo DiCaprio), claiming she couldn't leave without him. It's an amazing film that will force you into er, floods, of tears. Okay, so I'm not exactly a comedienne!

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. Yes, it is the first film based on our favourite fictional wizard - Harry Potter, supposedly having to escape the clutches of an evil wizard, while still having to face his teenage years as an orphan. Plus, he has to survive adolescence with that extremely untidy hair and a great big gash on his forehead.
Rubeus Hagrid (the friendly giant) was informing Harry of how his parents died when he mentioned this quote.
Well, I suppose he couldn't really have been the boy who died. Could he?
Black Hawk Down. This film takes place in 1993 when the U.S. sent special forces into Somalia to bring food and humanitarian aid to the starving population, using helicopters famously named Black Hawks. Todd Blackburn (Orlando Bloom) delivered this line as the U.S. forces cruised over the water in a Black Hawk. At 18 years old, it's a pretty big achievement to restore a country to peace and prosperity. Bless him.

The Matrix. In this amazing story of a world that has been pulled over your eyes to blind you from the truth - another world - the real world, it is the creepy, psychic kid in the Oracle's waiting room that famously delivers this line to Neo. But personally, I think that Neo's got bigger fish to fry than the likes of a piece of cutlery.

Mulan. Mulan is a popular Chinese folk tale about a peasant girl who disguises herself as a man and takes her ailing father's place in the emperor's army. Mushu (the lizard) is the one who informs the tiny cockroach that he is "lucky", when it survives crossing the road with a blindfolded elderly lady.
Legally Blonde. Elle Woods has it all - a boyfriend, the place of Miss June in her campus calender, and above all, blonde hair. But her sparkling hair is about to let her down big time, when her boyfriend claims that she is too blonde, and therefore stupid. So it's down to Harvard for Elle to become a top lawyer, and to impress her boyfriend. When she turns up at Harvard, her ex-boyfriend is surprised to see her there and asks why she, of all people, would want to become a lawyer. Her reply is, "What... like it's hard?" No comment.
The Others. In this WW2 film, Grace (Nicole Kidman) and her two photo-sensitive children live in a house on a deserted island. Suddenly, some intruders appear in the house, and start to create havoc.
Eventually, when the family of intruders decide to give up, Grace and her two children repeat this sentence, as they watch them leave the house. Although it may seem really obvious that the house is theirs, they do have a reason to keep saying this strange thing.
Bruce Almighty. Bruce Nolan (Jim Carrey), a television reporter in New York, believes that his life is doomed and that God has it easy. So when they suddenly switch lives, Bruce takes advantage and lives it his way, not thinking about anybody else. This quote, which he uses to conclude one of his reports, makes him the laughing stock of the town. Let us pray that there is a sequel!
Final Destination 2. This sequel is basically the same as the first film - all about defeating death and surviving life. There's a lot of blood, there's a lot of guts, and there is a lot of er, blood. One of the main characters, Clear Rivers (Ali Larter), suddenly realises that this is the way to ultimately cheat death, and that's when she gives this advice.
Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. Arrr, this line be said by Cap'n Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) when he be talkin' to the young lass Elizabeth (Keira Knightley), who insults him because she's disgusted with his pirate-ish nature, when he threatens to kidnap her because his possessions, or "effects", had been taken from him. Well said, matie!

Practical Magic. Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman are sisters who are also witches. When Nicole’s character gets trapped in a very bad relationship, they accidentally kill the man threatening to brand her by overdosing him with Bella Donna.
